Stefan Hunter has been Prime Minister of Serconea since 2001.
He was born in Harupdar in 1963 and attended the prestigious Hounslov University, graduating with a degree in History. At Hounslov he was an active Socialist and was elected to Hounslov's council in 1985.
From there he was placed onto the District 7 Socialist list and was elected to the National Assembly in 1989.
Between 1989 and 1997, Serconea was run by a People's Party-Liberal coalition and Hunter was a very good opposition spokesperson on education and later finance.
In 1991, Hunter met his future wife, a fellow Socialist AM and they married two years later.
In 1997, Andreja Trugara become PM in a Socialist-Liberal coalition and Hunter was appointed Minister for Internal Security and later Finance Minister. When Trugara stood down, Hunter won the Socialist leadership election and was chosen to lead his party into the 2001 election, where the ruling coalition was returned with an increased majority.
