The Militaristic Federation of Super American VX Man (SAVX) is a powerful nation in the Kingdom of the Midlands region that is valuable in both its military and R&D.

States

Primus

This the "capital" state of SAVX. It contains the actual capital, New Wasteland, where the entire oligarchy of the government resides, as well as the headquarters for the Inquisition and the Neogestapo. The military capabilities of this state alone are incredible, as defense of governmental facilities and people takes a high priority in SAVX. The western border makes up the northern section of the Totsandufer wastes. Major Cities: New Wasteland, Balsten

Sainama

Sainama is a special state in that it has its own autonomous government, though it's under the control of Der Führer. As such, it has its own paramilitary that is often involved in the wars that SAVX partakes in. Sainama is also the home to the religion of vxicism, which is a spiritual worship of Der Führer. For more detailed information, see the special section on Sainama. The western border and southern borders are home to part of the Totsandufer wastes. Major Cities: Michonas, Giddick

Vexia

Vexia is a land mostly composed of wasteland. However, the eastern portion of the nation gives rise to a less hostile climate with some farmland. The wasteland area is dotted with mountains and holds numerous ore deposits. A lone river running through the state feeds the only major city. Major Cities: Nathupo

Maximaia

Maximaia is primarily wasteland, making up nearly half of the Totsandufer wastes, but it is rich in ores, making it a valuable portion of SAVX. Major Cities: Galahan

Marisia

Marisia is the commercial and industrial center of SAVX. It is home to SAVX's most prominent corporations, including Syntec and Krimson. The coastline is dotted with extremely popular resorts and beaches, which attract millions of tourists every year. Major Cities: Tekanot, Syntec City, Krimson Town

Syrna

Syrna is the most resource-rich region of SAVX, including many ores, lumber, natural gas, and uranium deposits. The north-western quarter of the state is covered with farmland, producing enough food to meet most of SAVX's needs. The state is also dotted with nature preserves and national parks, being home to the most wildlife in SAVX. Major Cities: Redding

Ingoria

Ingoria is the largest producer of agricultural products in SAVX. The island is mostly flat and extremely fertile thanks in part to the pockets of volcanoes around the island. The state is also the center for fishing and shipping, with many harbors around its coasts. Major Cities: Marlburg

Trimidia

Trimidia is another major tourist site, attracting even more tourists than Marisia on a yearly basis. The inner portion of the island is covered in mountains and tropical rainforests. The island also contains some volcanoes, but very few are currently active. The northern portion also contains many ore deposits, especially uranium. Major Cities: Dietrino

Gallentia

Gallentia is the newest state annexed into the Federation. The island is rich in ore deposits and is home to numerous geothermal plants, which supply a large portion of power to the SAVX Phala island chain. There are also some minor gold deposits. Major Cities: Moralus


Major Natural Formations

Totsandufer Wastes

The Totsandufer Wasteland is a giant area in SAVX consisting of the SAVX-owned portion of the TKotM wastelands. It's dotted with mountains and canyons, with one small river running through most of the region. Many secret military facilities are located in the region, safe from curious citizens and foreigners who are deterred by the harsh landscape. The Wasteland also acts as a front-line region in the event of land-based conflicts that make their way to SAVX.


Phala Island Chain

The Phala Island Chain comprises the upper half of the chain of islands to the south of continental SAVX. The region is volcanic and tropical, producing a region full of resources from ores to lumber to power to shipping commerce, as well as being host to a high level of tourism. Militarily, the Phala islands act as a home-base to the bulk of the SAVX Naval Forces. In the event of a defensive war, the entire area is surrounded by a circular system of anti-ship mines, which are connected by chains to an elevation-altering system. In peacetime, the mines are deactivated and towed towards the bottom of the sea; in war-time, they're armed and raised to various levels to combat both surface ships and submarines.


Grünhimmel Rainforests

The Grünhimmel (Green Heaven) Rainforests comprise the nearly-solid tropical forest regions in Marisia and Syrna. Most of this region is protected within boundries of national parks and forest preserves. It is also home to some of the most top-secret research facilities in SAVX.

Marines

Recently, the SAVX military underwent a massive overhaul that gave way to changes in doctrine, technology, and tactics. While SAVX has always been open to the use of so-called WMDs, they have remained somewhat in the background, used as support and last-resort measures. Under the revised military, they--chemical munitions in particular--will become much more prevalently used in a wide variety of conflicts. This is being done in the hopes of shortening potential conflicts by instilling real fear of WMD retribution into the hearts of any enemies. Some other updates (taken from the regional forum):

All aspects of the military are being shrunk down to some extent. This is to allow for greater budget in training and technological development--an almost entirely elite force. It is assumed that most other nations will maintain their in-between status between numbers and skill. Unless SAVX has a reason to unleash its full fury, it will try to play a mostly (extremely) supportive role. If methods of combat are an issue, other nations within the region are allowed to request avoidance of excessive NBC use. The special forces (Shadows) alone can offer a powerful role in conflicts, and the NBC-less standard forces are still more than effective enough.

The Atomic Corps remains its own entity, but it will play a much more common role in conflicts SAVX is involved in. All of the naval forces will be modified to carry powerful miniature atomic munitions to make up for their otherwise lack of mass-scale effectiveness. All nations within TKotM will have access to any technology developed. SAVX also wants to be involved, at least to some extent, in IN's new military goals (that is, to take down oppressive governments and such). Its role in this activity, unless otherwise called for, will be limited to special forces activity.

The Oblivion Troopers (i.e. Standard Shock Troopers) will be deployed much more commonly to conflicts, and their ranks will expand from nearly 9,000 to 12,000. Oblivion Knights (i.e. Elite Shock Troopers) will maintain their role as a last-resort strike/defense force. Their ranks will remain at 1,000.


Specialist Forces

Shadow Corps: The generic SOFs of SAVX. Shadows are nearly evenly divided into five divisions based on their area of combat. These are: Solid (land), Liquid (marine), Ghost (sniping, assassination, etc.), Galactic (space), Shield (guard, personal protection). Shadows are trained to be light and maneuverable, relying more on skill and versatility than heavy firepower. They are trained to utilize nearly any weapon in the SAVX inventory, as well as countless foreign weapons. Shadow training is vigorous and dangerous, and completely voluntary. Training takes up to five years, with a minimum of two. Only approximately 2% of all applicants (around 5,000 per year) ultimately make it into the Corps. Given their specialist extended training and above-average capability, they are given matching assignments. "To see a Shadow is to be lucky. To survive a Shadow is a misconception."

Inferno Corps: The Inferno Corps is the embodiment of the fiery visage of Hell on Earth. With a plethora of weapons containing napalm, phosphorous, thermite, and other horrible incendiary concoctions, the Inferno Corps is guaranteed to leave a combat zone completely razed and decimated. The soldiers in the corps are trained and geared to fight amidst raging fires and rolling black smoke. They are also trained to make best use of any kindling or accelerates available in the field to aid themselves. The corps units are comprised of medium and heavy vehicles, the infamous HotSpot Strykers, and Firestorm Howitzers. Squads are comprised of 2 to 4 BurnaBoys, supported by Inferno Marines with conventional weapons. Inferno Marines are some of the most daring soldiers in the world, as the situation under which they fight is nothing short of insane. "Out of the frying pan and into the raging firestorm."

Shock Trooper Division: The Shock Trooper Division is comprised of soldiers in Power Armor. All Shock Troopers are augmented with biomodifications made to their bodies to increase endurance, agility, and other physical qualities, as well as combat the aging process. Many Shock Troopers (once retired) live to be over 150 years old. Most remain in the service until around age 70 to 80. The biomodification process is long, painful, and irreversible. All Shock Troopers are hand-picked by the Master General and/or Der Führer after reviewing nominations by lower commanders. All are allowed to decline the offer with no fear of retribution. Standard Shock Troopers, which comprise 8,820 (88%) of the Division are elite veterans who have proven their worth through many battles. They have basic biomodifications and wear Mk. I Power Combat Armor. Elite Shock Troopers are are few and far between, numbering 1,000 (10%). They have proven their worth well beyond the amazing standards of Standard Shock Troopers. They undergo further biomodification, increasing their overall physical status and lifespan by an average of two or three times. Wearing Mk. III Power Combat Armor, virtually nothing can stand in their way. Finally, the mysterious, terrifying, infamous Death Troopers. The Death Troopers come to their position either by conventional means (going above and beyond Elite Shock Trooper standards) or by more direct means through the Führer. All Death Troopers are hand-picked by the Führer alone. Death Troopers undergo extreme biomodification, retaining their human roots only through their genetic code and their minds (though many are insane). They will be covered in further detail in the next section.

The Death Squads

Frequently mentioned in RPs involving SAVX, the Death Squads are a double-edged sword; their contributions to the blackest military operations performed by SAVX are invaluable, but their means, when found, achieve negative publicity akin to bombing an orphanage, regardless of the deservingness of the target. Death Squads fight, in their respective manners, in the most terrifying ways imaginable. The suffering and mental shock they can cause is only surpassed by the Inquisition Halls of Hell. The Death Troopers number only 180, but they are so unimaginably effective at killing and living to tell about it that no more are required. They are divided into nine squads, each with its own theme and fighting style. Five squads are considered lower-leveled, and therefore used more frequently in relatively less important operations. These are comprised of newer members who have yet to qualify for the higher-leveld squads, if indeed they ever do. These squads can recieve commands from Der Führer, the Master General, and the Master Inquisitor. The four other squads are under direct orders from Der Führer alone.

Banshee: A stealthy group, the Banshee squad employs a variety of weapons, but enjoy the self-titled "Banshee" rocket launchers and "Shrieker" guns the most. They recieve their title from both the particular screech of their rockets upon firing, and due to their battlecry, which is a blood-curdling scream. Their armor is colored a mix of dark purple and black.

Blood: The newest squad, Blood members enjoy melee combat, and have a multitude of weapons designed for this purpose. They often leave their armor thoroughly stained with the blood of their victims. They excel at stealthy night attacks, sneaking into the enemy area and getting into good positions around targets, followed by a battlecry, which is when they strike. Combat is quick and relatively noiseless, as loud guns and explosives are forsaken for the opportunity to come in direct contact with the enemy. Their armor is colored a semi-bright sanguine.

Defiler: Defilers enjoy making use of chemicals and radiation. Their name comes from their tendency to completely poison the area they attack, leaving it in a state of complete sepsis for years. They take pleasure in the way the bodies of their enemies melt away at the hands of corrosive compounds; become blistered and bloated from the toxic chemicals they employ; or simply become ravaged with burns from extensive, rapid radiation exposure. Their armor is colored a mix of lime-green and dark green.

Scorch: The heavy use of incindiaries is the trademark of this squad. Their own armor is often coated in soot and ash, gathered during searches through aftermath sites. This group tends to cause the most collateral damage, often destroying large areas due to fires. They tend to be very quiet, and like to set up incindiary explosives all around their target area for attacking, surprising their enemy with surrounding infernos. Their armor is colored a dark orange.

Scythe: Scythe members, like Blood members, tend to enjoy melee combat. However, they also enjoy employing vicious specially-designed weapons like Combat Scythes, Razor Whips, Ripper Rail Rifles, Flechette Rifles, and Mega Claws. Unlike Blood, they do not coat themselves in the blood of their enemies; rather, their pleasure is derived only from watching their enemies fall in pieces. Their armor is colored a mix of black and white, but they wear black cloacks over it, giving them the visages of Grim Reapers.


Dragon: Like Scorch, Dragon members enjoy a good fire. However, their skill in pyrotechnics is unmatched, and some missions have resulted in the first few seconds of a fire strike killing every intended target. They enjoy making extensive use of Flame Swords, as they have spent years learning and adjusting to the weapon's proper use. Their armor is colored a mix of dark orange and yellow.

Demon: The Führer's personal elite Death Squad, this group has been employed for many years. Their skill in combat is unmatched by the other Death Squads, and they are the only group with the authority to command any other military force, effectively putting them at any required rank during combat. However, they rarely do, preferring to kill every target themselves, whether by gun or blade. Their armor is colored black.

Omega: A veteran group, they have no weapon preference, their motto being, "If it kills, we'll take it." Used by SAVX for more dangerous missions, this group has been known to pull through with high success in virtually every case. They typically employ ranged weapons to pulverize the enemy from a distance, before rushing in to finish the job with melee combat. Their armor is colored dark grey.

Wraith: This group is, by far, the most stealthy of the Death Squads. They will sneak into the target territory unnoticed and proceed to brutally, but silently, assasinate every person in the area. Bodies are often found in the morning or a few days afterwards with their throats slit, eyes gouged out, and entrails removed. The sanity of some of these warrios is often brought into question, but as long as they serve the Führer with complete loyalty, only minor drug perscriptions are required. Their armor is colored a mix of black and yellow.


The Palace Guard

The Palace Guard--based in The Palace in the capital of SAVX, New Wasteland--are a hydridization of two specialist forces: Shock Troopes and Shield Shadows. Equipped with the most advanced technology, trained to the highest degree, and selected through the most rigorous processes, the Palace Guard is entrusted with the one of the most important tasks in all of the SAVX military: protection of the oligarchy, especially Der Führer. Palace Guardsmen are combed from the ranks of the Elite Shock Troopers and Shield Shadows; those who show promise are offered an opportunity to advance to the highest level of honor given to any soldier.

Numbering only 300 personnel, the Palace Guard is equipped with Mk.III Power Combat Armor, armed to the teeth, and trained to be able to single-handedly take on entire armies if the situation ever calls for it. They cover the entire grounds of The Palace, both in and out, and are effectively able to neutralize any threat that has ever reached the walls of The Palace.

The record for most distance traveled by a tresspasser is two feet from the point of entry. Blood still stains the pavement where a Ripper Rifle sawblade tore his head off.

Special Technologies

Necrothermus Fungae

AKA Shadow Carpet

The fungus Shadow Carpet can grow on any living thing. It was developed by an international team of researchers many years ago, of which SAVX was the main driving force. The fungus is extremely resilient and durable to environmental variants, has no known treatments, and is only known to be destroyed by concetrated bleach or similar general-toxin chemicals. It's extremely fast-acting and works by producing a necrotizing agent called Aurix-221 which it uses to break down organic tissue to metabolize. The key in dispersal lies in its spores; they will only germinate if exposed to extremely high temperatures. This makes the fungus easily used in explosive or incendiary warheads. This also allows it to be controlled; if the fungus isn't exposed to the necessary temperatures, it won't be able to reproduce and so will eventually die off once its nutrient sources are exhausted.


Aurix-221

Aurix-221 is a necrotizing agent derived from the Shadow Carpet fungus. The agent is less of just a chemical and more of a mixture of chemical toxin and a series of specialized enzymes that can break down almost any organic substance or lifeform. How exactly the fungus produces this without harming itself is still being studied, but the results prove themselves: few substances are deadlier. With high concetration and enough time, the substance can completely dissolve any organic substances into their basic molecules. Some of the proteins that help form the quarternary structures of all of the major enzymes have unstable structures and, over time, denature into stable but harmless forms. The half-life of these molecules are, on average, about two days, meaning Aurix-221 does in fact lose its toxicity over time.

Sainama

Sainama is an area where the people of SAVX have created a strong religion idolizing the Führer. They have undying devotion to his will and will do anything within their power to uphold his beliefs. Their views are far skewed from normal SAVXian society, but they are respected for the warriors they bear in the Führer's name and because of the free services they provide to help benefit SAVXian society. The people of Sainama could almost be considered an entirely different entity themselves, as they have a semi-autonomous leadership, but they are still officially under the control of the Führer.

The military might that Sainama wields is not considered part of the official SAVXian military, and thus are not funded by national taxes or trained by officials. However, they are allowed to join in conflicts or fight their own, should they so choose (an opportunity for which they hunger with a passion).

How this society originated is not known for certain. The Führer certainly had little personal role in it, as he supports no propaganda programs or societal brainwashing techniques. Support for this religion, which is often referred to as vxicism (vix-is-iz-em) rapidly grew after its birth, and has amassed support from nearly 1/4 of the total SAVXian population. In this belief, there is a particular spirit that is embodied by whichever person is in control of SAVX at a given time--whoever is Der Führer. When that person dies, the spirit will have already selected its next host and will lead that person to win the elections and thus maintain everlasting control.

Many members of the famous Death Squads actually originated from Sainama. The position of Death Trooper is a position of upmost reverence in the vxicist religion. Multiple shrines revelling various squads have actually been created, and are popular tourist locations.

For the convenience of both the SAVXian government and any interested outside parties, researchers have spent numerous months in the Sainaman and vxicist society to gain a better understanding of the structure and belief system. They have prepared the following report on those who appear to have the greatest control in the society.


Military/Political Hierarchy

Der Heilig Führer (The Holy Leader)

In the society of Sainama, this is the official title of the Führer. He is seen as a god of sorts, and is held at a level of honor that other SAVXians don't typically share, regardless of their level of support. Occasionally, the Führer will interact with the heads of Sainama, or hold specialized public events for the people of Sainama. In this way he does what he can to maintain their morale because "they could prove extremely helpful in dire situations, so their services would be best maintained." Unofficially, the Führer also enjoys the reverence too much to do anything to stop it.


Master Priest Slew Hapmann

A figure shrowded in a good deal of mystery, he acts as the leader of the vxicists, as well as the currently elected leader of Sainama, representing them in whatever matters they get involved with. He has never been seen by the media or populace without his custom Mk.I Power Combat Armor, helping him retain his veil of mystery and unquestioning authority to those below him (as well as some above).


High Priestess Lindsay Malsway

On-field commander of the Sainaman primary military division Thunder Force, which has about 10,000 fighting soldiers. In the few battles that they have involved themselves in, she has always led her troops to victory through merciless combat and dangerous odds. Soldiers in Thunder Force will always fight to the death in the name of Der Heilig Führer, so that they may "bring as many evil foes into the depths of hell as the Führer's spirit will allow."

Thunder Force soldiers are basically a radicalized version of standard SAVX Marines with a passion for "cleansing" fire. They have access to most arms available through Syntec and Krimson Corporations, as well as use of Federal training facilities within the area of Sainama. Always at a level of battle readiness, Thunder Force bases are scattered throughout Sainama to offer a relatively all-encompassing defense.

"Burn in the fires of His will!"


High Priest Markus Gasis

Commander of the Feuerfaust (Fire Fist) Strike Force, which has about 500 fighting soldiers, Gasis is among one of the toughest and most-respected commanders in the Sainaman military. While he doesn't wield the numbers of his counterpart commanders, he makes up for it in his ability to maneuver his force quickly and effectively, hitting the enemy where it counts before they can even load their guns. While most people wouldn't last two days under his command, some vxicists have the proper mentality and physical ability to endure and succeed, earning their respect amongst other warriors for their extreme feats.

Feuerfaust soldiers have the training and skill of standard SAVX Shock Troopers with an even tougher mentality and spirit. Suited in Mk.I Power Armor and optional StarStream Mk.II Jetpacks, they are able to effectively drive home a military punch like no other. With their jetpacks, Feuerfausts can maneuver faster than nearly any other military force in SAVX. In the most desparate of situations, Feuerfaust soldiers will fly straight into enemies, killing themselves when their jetpacks and armor's power cores explode just to ensure that as many enemies as possible are defeated.

"Into the heart of the beast!"


High Priest Fredrick Leon

Leon is the commander of the special air unit, Atomic Angels, which has about 2,000 fighting soldiers. No one has yet been able to live up to their reputation for valor and skill in combat behind enemy lines. In some rare cases, they have had the honor to deploy with SAVXian Military forces in special ops raids and missions, as well as two instances of acting as support for Death Squads in their activities. Such actions have given them utmost respect from the Sainaman populace.

Whether it be paradropping, helicopter insertion, or dropship landing, Leon will lead his Atomic Angels Marines charging into battle to coat the ground in "unholy blood," while his fanatical aircraft pilots pulverize the enemy from above.

"Death from above!"


High Priest Charles Gorish

Gorish leads the armored battalions of Doomhammer, numbering at about 2,000 fighting men. His innovation in armored tactics is astounding, and the men under him assist him in proving that point. With the full arsenal of Syntec and Krimson vehicles, Gorish often uses his vehicles on all parts of a front, giving his bretheren an armored backbone like no other.

Fanatical and driven with a desire to crush all who oppose them, Doomhammer crews will fight until they have nothing left to fight with, then sacrifice themselves with extreme zealousness if combat continues. Immobilized vehicles will continue to fire at any and every possible target until destroyed or out of ammunition, and disarmed vehicles that can still drive are used like bulldozers to plow into hardened units and positions, regardless of how suicidal the move is. If a vehicle is completely out of commission, then Doomhammer soldiers will use it as a bunker, using whatever small arms they have to continue the fight. In the most extreme cases, soldiers laden with backup explosives will dash towards enemies and sacrifice themselves in the name of Der Heilig Führer.

"With an iron will...into the storm!"


Notes

Surrender is virtually unknown to Sainaman forces. The only time that caution ever gets the better part of valor is when hope for continued successful battling only lies in discontinuing it for the moment. This is mostly a tactic reserved for commanders who are too difficult to come by. Soldiers are given the option to do so as well without fear of retribution or the label of coward. Most, however, opt for going down in blazing glory.

Sainaman forces are particularly unforgiving with enemies or those associated with enemies. Except in the most clearcut of cases, Sainama soldiers who suspect anyone, including civilians, of enemy support (whether material or simply moral) will not hesitate to kill them. While the Führer does not completely support such rash activities at all times, he will not openly condemn them for worry of offending such loyal soldiers.


Socioeconomic Structure

Civilian life is much like that in the rest of the SAVXian domain. The main exception is in the form of religious tribute; every day, vxicists will hold regular prayers for the godly spirit of the Führer in the morning and afternoon. People typically visit the few designated shrines in the area on a regular basis of about once a month. Every able-bodied vxicist is trained in the art of combat. Since they are not a separate entity from the SAVXian population, they can manage to support a large sum of the population going off to war while carefully balancing economic ties with the other states. Due to the massive profit that Syntec and Krimson recieve from the Sainaman military purchases, the two companies will often sponsor the entire state for short periods of time during conflicts. For the most part, however, the populace is learned and practiced in food rationing and reduced product consumption to help offset the drop in workforce.

Like the rest of SAVX, education, law, and personal freedom are considered the most important aspects of civilization; the quasi-government of Sainama reflects these policies in their liberal-libertarian ideology. However, vxicists are also of the ideology that nothing is worth more than the life of the Führer, hence their zealous defense of the person in that position. In the two times that the Führer was voted out of office, strife resulted, and large amounts of violence almost broke out. However, with the aid of younger-thinking vxicists, an understanding was reached that perhaps the spirit of Der Führer is not always present in those elected to the position, and in that case, the person will show signs of it in actions and decisions that lead the populace to vote him out of office.

The economy is maintained in the same way as the rest of SAVX; near-lassiez-faire capitalist policies, with enough restrictions to make unscrupulous executives think twice before enacting corrupt policies. The same companies that employ much of the rest of the SAVXian population employ Sainamans, so there is little, if any, difference from the rest of SAVX. The vxicist ideology does enact a higher level of work ethic in many people, though, making Sainama a highly productive region when a war isn't going on.

There are also a small number of Euroslavians living within the borders, as much of the land was settled by them in previous times. Despite the often conflicting ideologies, they live in harmony with the vxicists and, together, support the society of Sainama

Sainamans are considering increasing their personal role in foreign affairs, since the Führer will allow for it within any reasonable extent. This report should give national leaders a better idea of this new ideology.
