Super Roman Military Archive:

Super Roman Military expenditure is unprecedented in the Alliance of Honourable Peoples. The majority of the military's budget falls to research and development and maintaining the Super Roman Space Core. The military budget percentage of total expenditure has remained at 40% for over 10 years. Military discipline is extremely high and key to the operation of the SRSC. The Super Roman army is not spectacularly large with one million marines on active service. It The emphasis of spending is instead placed on quality of equipment and efficiency in battle. This has given rise to the military term “Utilis”.

"Utilis"

In "Utilis" each individual marine is equipped with the weapon type most suited to them. At birth all Romans have their genetic profile stored in a government database. If at a later date the individual decides to enlist in the Army, this profile will be used to determine the weapon class best suited to the individual.

Seeing as the sheer size of many military powers such as Roudland, Friendly Aliens, Kegmenistan etc provide the adequate manpower needed on the battlefield, the Super Roman Council believed that a more specialised military was needed. It was thus that huge levels of funding poured into space research. The SRSC was established in 1965 with the first vessel in the Alliance, the “Odyssey” to be launched into space in 1979, effectively ending the Cold War with Kegmenistan. The SRSC prides itself on its space fleet. The SRSC is keen to develop high tech weaponry and equip all marines, even cadets with some of the more powerful weapon types. However the higher rank the marine the greater flexibility in weaponry available.

The SRSC on the ground will always fight in squads of no more than 20, with at least one commander or Spartan. This is to make sure that as many marines as possible will return from battle. The contingent will always be supported with either Scorpion or BMP Armoured Vehicles. The only exceptions to this rule are the Spartans and Helljumpers. These operate as both covert strike forces and rapid assault teams. Spartans will even operate alone. Key to operating efficiently is communication. Communication technology is critical if the Super Roman army is to function. This has led to all vehicles, marines, Spartans, Helljumpers, vanguard, being linked up to the RomNet network.

RomNet (RN)

All marines are equipped with a neural chip containing personal details and programmes that will allow access to all information not classified to the individual on a live computer database. It also allows commanders to link to the tactical feed of the battlefield as seen from orbit. This network is essential for any operation to be effective. RN is accessed by marines either via tactical hubs based on all vehicles and tactical equipment or through a permanent connection via the SRSC combat helmet. RN stream originates from the SRSC fleet in orbit and is transmitted to designated hubs on the ground.

Each individual marine is linked to the nearest RomNet hub on the ground via the display HUD embedded in Super Roman helmets. Each hub is designated a specific frequency that only members of that specific squad can have access. RomNet software provides each marine with a powerful motion tracker. This motion tracker can detect all movement in an area of twenty metres and can distinguish allies via the RomNet frequencies emitted. This will allow marines to detect enemies before they even come into view. RomNet software also incorporates an advanced network of heat and night vision options. Heat sensors can be accessed at any time by a marine, whether it is used to mark out Sniper positions or verify power sources.

Only the Squad Commander or Spartan can manipulate the RomNet stream to indicate targets and waypoints to the rest of the marines and liaise with the SRSC fleet to confirm course of action. In this way a squad can be directly controlled from orbit and situations assessed more effectively. The only exceptions to this rule are the Spartans. Spartans are permanently linked to RomNet through higher frequency channels and can access RomNet anywhere on the battlefield. Spartans are in permanent contact with officials in the SRSC orbital fleet.

In summary the Super Roman army is highly skilled, versatile and well disciplined. Its meticulous training and weapon delivery programmes mean that the marines are often the best equipped in the Alliance. Each marine is treated as an individual, with roles being appointed based on his performance and attributes. The troops are loyal to the Imperator and will not desert or leave an ally behind and those without honour will never see the battlefield. The Super Roman weaponry is generally bulky, but created as to not overburden the marine with its power or weight. Many of the weapons systems include polymer-based designs. The Super Roman army however does lack in sheer bulk size. It therefore is not suited to large-scale open warfare, although if provoked it will put up substantial resistance.

General Overview:

The Super Roman military budget stands currently around the D58 Trillion per annum level and has been running a surplus of over D15 Trillion for the past 4 years. This Surplus has been used in the past to increase the fleets strength via number and refits. In 2006 “Unity” the first Super Capital Class Battlecruiser was completed and with its celebrated launch came the first complete overhaul of the Super Roman Fleet. Each vessel now incorperates a Heavy Fusion (HFusion) reactor as opposed to the original Fusion Reactor. This increased available power for ships by 140%. This allows all Titan vessel to ascend and descend into the atmosphere easily. Recent advances in fusion technology have allowed the development of "Faster Than Thruster" or FTT engine systems. It is believed that once the fleet has been refitted with such advanced engines, missions to Mars and beyond will be possile in months rather than years. The FTT drives will also provide unparalleled manoeuvrability in orbital combat. Forward and reverse thrusters have been upgarded to FTT style engines.

HFusion reactors also are far more compact than the original reactors, thus increasing the space available for personnel and equipment. Due to the increasing emphasis on orbital expansion exerted by Super Roman officials, nuclear armament capability came under SRSC administration. Each Titan has now been authorised to maintain a heavy nuclear arsenal. Furthermore each Titan now is equipped with two nuclear launch bays. Each Titan is adorned with a metre of ablative armour to encompass the main body of the vessel.

After the orbital cnfrontation with Perpendiculum and Walschland SRSC spending has increased dramatically. Surplus funds are being utilised to manufacture an estimate 33 further vessels before the new year. The SRSC was declared the universal military institution within Super Rome. All previous institutions now fell under the guise of the SRSC council. Funding for these seperate departments has since been diverted. Thus it is estimated that the increase in vessel strength and technological equipment aboard existing vessels will constitute an unprecedented D40 Trillion. However with the fleet set to double in size, the expense is generally accepted within Super Rome. The SRSC fleet will stand at 65 ships. Thus for effective administration the fleet, a new class system has been introduced. Titans are now classified as either:

Phoneix, Nebula, Intrepid, Galaxy, Sovereign or Siege class

Generally each vessel can hold a maximum of 1650 personnel. Each can house up to 40 Scorpion Battle tanks 30 BMP's and 50 Warthog variants. 50 Longsword Defensive craft, 18 Pelican dropships and 4 Albatross Transporters in the 5 launch bays. Each ship is equipped with medical facilities, dining facilities, tactical centres, armouries and crew living quarters. Each vessel is linked to RomNet emitters, allowing instantaneous information transfer. All are quipped with EMP, EMPS devices.

A Titan has a minimum standard: a minimum of 3-metre thick titanium armour plus an additional metre of ablative armour. Due to recent refits two major advances have been made:

Firstly the MACII device is operational every 40 seconds. However the reload time does depend on orbital conditions and the individual ship in question. The MACII gun itself is incorporated into the underside of the ship as a module. When the MACII gun is not in operation the ship closes the MAC blast doors to prevent any craft from bombing the inside of the device.

Secondly shortly before the Perpendiculum war "Diamond Design Technology" was added to the SRSC Invincible. The strength added by the DDT to the vessel exoskeleton proved immense. The design features a double layered hull interlaced with pure titanium beams. Without the arrival of FTT engine designs atmospheric movement would have been impossible, however recent tests over Perpendiculum have proved otherwise. DDT technology is unrivalled and has cost the SRSC a further D8 Trillion to implement on all vessels. Overlord hull designs were especially difficult to modify. Diamond Design has increased SRSC hull strength by 220%.

Each vessel contains Gauss point defence fore and aft and carries a complement of 160 Templar missiles. These are mainly affective verses large slow moving targets. They are capable of homing but can be outmanoeuvred. The missiles are launched from bays on the stern. Titans are dwarfed by the overlord class but will remain formidable opponents. SRSC vessels are designed to accomodate marines in the long term and to this end SRSC vessels, although primarily war vessels, also successfully double as comfortable homes for thousands of marines. Many have even been permitted to allow family members to move aboard.

Though many other nations are also refitting their ships and rebuilding their space fleets, Super Rome stands far above the rest in its ability to sustain large fleets of large vessels. Military commentators have noted that this has led to other nations either 'adapting or falling behind'. Interestingly the 2006 Autumn Strategic Review of the Roudland Military advocated the reshaping of the Roudland Orbital Fleet (Now renamed the Roudland Space Force) for the purposes of fitting in better with the SRSC fleet. As can be seen, the Future Ships of the Roudland Space Force are indeed designed for supporting large scale SRSC operations, though they do not lose their ability to function apart from Super Rome's fleet.

Vessels

UNDER RECONSTRUCTION

The Phoenix Class

The Phenix class Titan is the premier multirole vessel within the SRSC. Each is designed primarily for anti capital ship warfare. The Phoenix class is the first line of defence for the SRSC. Each is capable of high atmosphere orbit, but cannot descend to lower levels of the atmosphere. The Phoenix class has existed since the creation of the first Titan Dreadnough The pillar of Autumn and is often found in heavily modified forms. The echelon wall formation consists entirely of Phoenix vessels. Typically a Phoenix class vessel hold a crew complement of 1200 marines of all castes, 400 crew members and 50 Spartans. Each vessel is commanded by a captian specifically suited to the role of that vessel. Each honeix class holds a heavy nuclear arsenal after the contraversial move by the SRSC to locate all nuclear deterrants in orbit. Phoenix Titans have been involved in nearly every modern conflict: the Caesaran war, the Tikrit campaign and most notably the Perpendicular war.

Phoenix class Titans are the most numerous class within the SRSC and numbers are set to increase to 25 vessels before the new year. With the arrival and the adoption of FTT and DDT technology Phoneix vessels have become extremely formidable opponents. FTT engines have allowed higher levels of armour incorporation and dramatically increased manoeuvrability within a battle arena. Phoenix Titan armaments are generally, but not limited to:

1 MACII device

190 PDM (Point Defence MAC)

150 Heavy Gauss Turrets

240 Templar Missiles

24 Nuclear Warheads

Ship AI

EMP

After the Perpendiculum war 4 new vessels were incorporated from the Perpendiculum Space Corps into the SRSC. These vessels were stripped of Perpendiculum technology and have since been modified to conform to SRSC minimum standards. Many Phoenix captains have been delighted at the "Phoenix revival" and are fully co-operating with the new armour and engine modification programmes. Typically each Titan has been in operation for over two years, but the adoption of multiple new vessels will see the average operational time decrease significantly. Held within the five Titan launch bays:

120 Scorpion Battle Tanks

90 BMP III Vehicles

150 Warthog variants

175 Longsword/Shrike Orbital Strike Fighters

30 Pelican Dropships

12 Albatross Heavy Transporters

2 RAY Mechanised Walkers

Each Phoenix Titan is generally: Length 1450m Height 190m Width 170m

Nebula Class

The Nebula Class Titan is designated a scientific research vessel by the SRSC. The Nebula Titan does not necessarily construe to the Titan conventional designs. These vessels are designed to generate and guard against technological warfare. The diverse range of operations carried out by the Nebula vessels has led to extreme variation and modification between vessels. Many utilise more advanced communications and electromagnetic technologies. There are 8 designated Nebula Class Titans

A group of four vessels has been categorised as Titan "Wraiths". These Nebula class vessels do not house a MAC device but instead have extremely heavy all encompasing DDT armour. The Wraith vessels are primarily marine boarding vessels. Each is armed with a high Templar Torpedo complement and numerous PDM and Heavy Gauss turrets to ensure that the vessels can provide adequate close quarter support for boarding vessels. Instead of a MAC module based on the underside "adjudicator clamps" have been installed. Essentially when a Titan manoeuvres into a suitable boarding position the devices a talon inspired solid titanium clamp clutches the vessel in question and tungsten heavy cutting lasers, primarily used in mining operations, bore deep into the hull until an airtight seal can be inserted and pressurised. This allows the ship-to-ship transfer of multiple marines and Spartans. Ships classified as Wraiths:

SRSC Wraith

SRSC Watchman

SRSC Necron

SRSC Gloom

The Wraith vessels have a crew number alightly smaller than that found typically in the Nebula class, since each carries a higher proportion of orbital fighters. However, generally a far greater number of special forces are on board at any given time. Ship sizes are on average similar to that specified below in the general Nebula technical layout. The general armament of a Wraith Vessel:

1 Adjudicator Boarding Device (ABD)

170 PDM (Point Defence MAC)

200 Heavy Gauss Autocannons

300 Templar Missiles

24 Nuclear Warheads

25 Scorpion Main Battle Tanks

100 Pelican Dropships

60 Warthog All Terrain Vehicles

30 BMPIII

180 Longsword Fighters

With the exception of SRSC Victory, a new repair vessel, most Nebula class vessels have a general size and crew complement: 900 marines, 350 crew and 250 Spartans can be easily accomodated aboard a Nebula Class Titan typically:

Length 975m Height 190m Width 170m

Intrepid Class Vessels

The Intrepid Class Titan is the super heavy variant of the Phoenix class. Few are set for creation since each requires an enormous level of power to operate. Two Fusion engines have to be incorporated into the main hull to power the massive FTT drives. The vessel is incapable of high atmosphere deployment and has had to be constructed alongside Unity and the Space manufacturing facilities.

Currently five vessels are set to be produced before the New Year. The vessel is a prototype design for the next generation of Super Roman vessels. However it has been strictly maintained by Navy brass that these vessels will not replace existing Titans, but instead work alongside them. Originally believed to be a heavy aircraft carrier, the vessel boasts super heavy Diamond Design Technology armour and an enhanced MAC II device. The MAC module is larger than any previously seen on SRSC vessels and has been derived from close study and tests on the orbital MAC guns currently orbiting Super Rome. It is unlikely that this MAC gun will replace existing MAC devices since power requirements are immense, hence the two fusion reactors. Reload times are slower than conventional devices at one round per one and a half minutes. The magnets installed within the coil are also of new design allowing a continuous charge to be maintained as opposed to periodic charge style magnets.

The Intrepid warships are built solely for that purpose. Crew quarters are of basic standard to allow increased room for weapons systems. Only two launch bays are incorporated into the vessel with orbital assault craft only. There is no facility for "Dropzone (DZ)" technology aboard. Fire control towers provide assistance to the entire fleet in co-ordinating weapons fire and ordinance.

This vessel is the first to be created with heavy orbital warfare in mind. No expense has been spared in their creation and it is likely few will be built seeing as the SRSC cannot justify the construction of such costly war vessels when a war seems less and less likely. Each vessel houses a heavy nuclear arsenal and quick fire mechanisms have been installed. Each design allows the vessel to counter most forms of electronic warfare and electronic jamming systems have been installed. Typically each vessel holds a smaller crew of elite marines and Spartans. Generally 650 marines, 50 Spartans and 200 crew members. Vessel size:

Galaxy Class Vessels

Galaxy Class Titans are primarily heavy support vessels. These Titans can provide heavy orbital or land support. Classified as Titan Carriers due to their much larger landing bay capacity, the Galaxy Class vessels are effective Titan command bases. On board technology is usually more advanced than that found on Phoenix or Intrepid Class Titans. There are 6 vessels within the Galaxy Class.

Each galaxy due to its high capacity design can hold a multitude of vehicles, fighters, dropships and walkers. It has been adapted to contain one of the most immense ground weapons that Super Rome has to offer: Sentinel.

Previously known as a Dragon Fortress, Sentinels are huge mechanised walkers capable of serving the purpose of battlefield headquarters when deployed. DropZone bays have been specifically created to handle to immense power requirements to launch the Sentinel. More details are contained below.

The MAC weapon is more imbedded further into the vessel than most other Titans due to the relatively flat design of each ship. Two primary launch bays run parallel to the main hull to enable multiple fighters to disembark at once. Galaxy Class vessels are also currently the premier torpedo and missile armed Titans. Each has a large complement of Templar missiles and Torpedoes in the logic that it would not be advisable in battle to fire MAC weaponry while fighters exit the vessel. Crew Complements consist of a higher proportion of pilots than average: 1300 Marines, 350 Crew, 150 Spartans.

Galaxy vessels along with the Sovereign and Siege Titans are capable of landing on flat terrain. The MAC has been imbedded into the underside of the vessel in such a way that landing struts placed either side can support the vessels landing. FTT drive has further made atmospheric landings possible since far less wind resistance is generated and upthrust is reduced.

The Sovereign Class

The Sovereign Class is designed to be a heavy assault cruiser, capable of orbital, atmospheric and close range bombardment. The MAC gun on each vessel is placed topside to allow the vessel to incorporate landing struts on the underside. Each Sovereign Class vessel therefore possesses the ability to maintain altitude at extremely low levels and actually even land. Landing procedure states that no vessel is to land in too close a proximity to towns since the power exerted from the FTT Fusion Engines would cause mass destruction on a vessel so large. However the SRSC has also considered the offensive application of this turn of events. Sovereign class vessels are often the largest and most protected vessels in the fleet. To command a Sovereign Class is a great honour as they are the flagships of the fleet. There are 8 Sovereign Class Vessels currently in operation.

The Sovereign was the brainchild of the Master Chief who believed that a "middle ground" should be found between the Overlord vessels and the common Phoenix Class Titans. Each Sovereign is powered by two FTT fusion engines to ensure that power requirements are always met. Armour is graded as heavy but is distant from the strength of the armour found upon Overlord or Intrepid class vessels.

Sovereign vessels have already demonstrated their prowess and effectiveness in battle during the Perpendiculum war. Although with a smaller complement than that found in the Galaxy class Carriers, the Sovereign can contain and successfully deploy a Sentinel Walker. Crew numbers are typically larger than that found in other vessels since it is highly likely that the vessels will be used in Ground Assaults and City occupation. Marines on board: 1500 Marines, 400 Crew, 400 Spartans.

Nuclear warheads are maintained on board alongside ground facing Templar Tubes. Much of the Point Defence weaponry is attached to the underside of the vessel since the MAC weapon is based topside. Sovereign vessels cannot be constructed on Super Rome, but instead aboard the scaffolding alongside the SRSC Unity. DDT Technology is particularly hardened on the underside of the vessel after damage was sustained from Anti-Air fire during the war. It was deemed necessary to house all major electrical equipment in the higher compartments of the ship since EMP damage would prove very costly. Insulation has also been grafted onto the underside to prevent a ship from being disabled if an extremely large radius EMP is launched.

The Siege Class

The Siege Class Titan came into being after the creation and battlefield testing of the prototype SRSC Siege vessel. The Siege Class is the premier orbital ground assualt vessel of the SRSC. Its heavy underside armour, top mounted MAC device and heavy PDM Armaments ensure that urban targets can be neutralised rapidly and efficiently without any fear of major retaliation. When used in the Perpendiculum war, SRSC Siege demonstrated complete competence in its functionality as a close support aerial tactical command base, hence the commissioning of several more vessels of this type. 6 further vessels are scheduled for completion by the new year, bringing the overall complement of Siege Class Titans up to 7.

The Siege Class Titan is one of the largest derivations of the SRSC Titan since its operational brief is to support and provide necessary ground attack capabilities. To meet this end the vessel has to accomodate a vast array of men, vehicles and aircraft and hence two additional air/orbitallaunch bays have been annexed to the side of the vessel.

The vessel is powered by FTT technology and utilises DDT armour, much like the rest of the fleet. It has landing capability since the underside has been renedered flat and is shielded from EMP damage. The High capacity launch bays are capable of accomodating a Sentinel Class Walker. Crew numbers are high, with frequent ground support requests anticipated. Crew: 1600 marines, 600 crew and 450 Spartans

The Overlord Class

SRSC Mercy

The 8 Overlord vessels are the flagships of the Super Roman fleet and are deployed in a multitude of roles. The Overlord first came into production after a campaign was undertaken by the leading members of the SRSC Council to create a larger capital class vessel, one which would be more heavily armoured, more powerful and have a greater holding capacity. This came at a time when the SRSC was developing an increasingly powerful arsenal of heavy ground weapons and vehicles.

Commander Rykov and leading members of the SRRC worked for three years developing and designing the vessel. The main question to be answered was how to power such a ship. The HAL labs and specifically its chief researcher Dr Merchant stumbled upon the answer. His increased capacity HFusion reactors (precursors to the FTT engines now employed) generated seven times the power of a typical reactor. Two of these HF reactors were commissioned and tests became a daily occurrence. This generated the reported “earthquakes” felt by the local citizens.

Once the new reactors were deemed safe, construction began on the vessel itself. “Mercy” took over a year to build and thousands of man-hours to complete. Its design incorporated the two first prototype MAC Mark II weapons systems and increased capacity launch bays. It is capable of transporting 2 Sentinels and numerous Scorpion tanks. It can also transport and "drop" 8 RAY mechanised vehicles. Its primary role today is as a heavy orbital siege weapon.

Under the wings of the overlord the two MAC II guns are held. The immense FTT Fusion reactors are carried at the centre of the ship. Each vessel carries multiple Heavy Gauss Point Defence platforms and enhanced prototype PDM technologies. Each overlord has a crew complement of at least 2400 marines. Most are operated, on average by 1200 men. Each has a large Spartan contingent aboard to counter any attempt at boarding and to allow for rapid Spartan deployment anywhere within the fleet (around 600). The 6m thick titanium DDT armour is in place to counter all medium-heavy-extreme arms fire. The underside is also armed with EMP and EMPS devices, again to aid in all ground assaults. Each has a high complement of Templar missiles, but these are rarely used as they often make up the rearguard of the fleet.

The Master Chief had considered the idea of a permanent command vessel many years before the Overlord Programme had been undertaken. However even with increased SRSC funding, it was impossible to find the resources to build such a vessel. Thus Roudland, Friendly Aliens and Jihad Allah all lended their assistance in the production of Unity, the first of two Super Capital Class Battle Cruisers.

SRSC Unity was the largest construction project ever carried out by the SRSC, but also the most costly. SRSC Unity was the largest construction project ever carried out by the SRSC, but also the most costly. Its specification delivered a fully mobile tactical operations centre, a major construction and repair centre and an awesomely powerful arsenal, unlike any other vessel the SRSC had within its possession. The creation of Unity ushered in a new era for orbital expansion.

SRSC Excelsior was the construction project undertaken by the SRSC alone, since it had now been possible to create such large vessels from Unity. Costs were innevitably high, especially since the Excelsior has incorporated a much more militaristic design. Personnel aboard the Excelsior are generally of military grade since much larger weapons capabilities have been included. Despite the military ethos surrounding this ship, it still serves as a repair and construction facility for the SRSC.

At the present each of the two "motherships" are powered by four FTT engines. Two FTT engines power the defensive and offensive arsenals whereas the remaining two, power the ships life support and auxiliary systems. Their manoeuvrability is severely limited, however both are intended as bases of operations, not combat vessels.

The vessels are equipped with four MAC II devices, two within the nose of the ship and one under each extended wing. Each Mothership holds over 18000 marines (including 750 Spartans)of all castes and 16000 personnel. Both vessels have the ability to dock two Titans in its fore and aft launch bays and is capable of docking an Overlord on the exterior for repairs. RomNet Hubs have been incorperated to allow the stations to serve effectively as the prmiary base of military operations. It is also from Unity that the orbital MAC Platforms are controlled. All ship AI units are produced and copied within Unity. There are 3 onboard ship AI units. Overall commmand of the vessels is handled either by the Master Chief or the Imperator. Armour stands at triple strength DDT pure Titanium plus 1m exterior ablative and refractive armour.

The Motherships are incredibly large and both are intended to be the first major attempts at a far wider orbital programme, possibly including civilian operations. Each vessel is extremely costly. Unity was estimated at a cost of D14 Trillion whereas SRSC Excelsior cost an estimated D18 Trillion, a figure often above entire nations GDP figures. No expense has been spared and the SRSC has no intention of building further vessels of this class without private backing.

Super Rome has the highest military spending in the Alliance bar none and this is reflected in the huge undertakings carried out by the unified Super Roman Space Corps. The SRSC became the universal military department for Super Rome after is was deemed inefficient to maintain several departments at once, which essentially all aimed to support the SRSC anyway.

SRSC and SRRC members believe that spending is believing, to that end, research has advanced the Super Roman fleet to unprecedented levels. Military spending has recently hit the D60 Trillion mark and with the annexation of Perpendiculum a new wealth of resources has prompted industries to increase production and output. Strong economic growth has led to further gains in tax revenues, thus higher spending across the defense industries.

Super Roman weaponry is generally very large. This is firstly to act as a deterrent to any would-be attacker. The SRSC has rapidly expanded over the past decade, now including 69 vessels from numerous classes. Super Rome is undoubtedly the foremost orbital power in the region with not only military but civilian interests in Space. The SRSC is the provider of heavy artillery support and Safety for the allied fleets. Often supported by Roudland, Kegmenistan and Friendly Aliens the combined space fleet numbers over 90 capital ships when fully deployed.

It is possible to maintain the fleet since Super Roman spending is extremely high whereas the Super Roman total military wage bill remains comparatively low since troop numbers are around 1.25 million as opposed to much higher numbers found in Rouland and Kegmenistan. The SRSC umbrella also saves funding since administration and seperate Research and Development projects are no longer necessary. All land and air forces have all been incorporated into the SRSC. The Super Roman military lacks any form of sea armaments however. This is a conscious choice as Super Rome feels that sea based attack craft are out-dated and unecessary. The sea is overpopulated with allied vessels as it is; there is no need to crowd the waterways with more vessels. However the Super Roman military recognises the sea still has some use. Under colonel Ford, a new type of mechanised walker known as “RAY” was developed in 2003, capable of travelling underwater for several days. However this is not a sea combat vessel. It cannot fire under water. It must first surface to fire.

The SRSC air force has traditionally been heavyily transport centred. Pelican and Albatross dropships have been the primary air vehicle for the SRSC since their conception. However in recent years Longsword Defence Craft have struggled to create air supremacy in an area not populated by SRSC Dreadnoughts. With the departure of Perpendicular corsairs from the fleet following the Perpendiculum war the SRSC has begun development of two new classes of fighter: The Shrike Class fighter and the Eclipse Class bombers.

The SRSC is typicallt the first Allied force on the battlefield. This is due to the fact that orbital transport allows rapid movement around the Alliance. "Dropzone technology" developed in 2001 allows for quick deployment of men and machines to the battlefield from both orbit or atmosphere. Only once squad numbers reach sufficient levels on the ground will heavy armaments be deployed such as RAY walkers, Sentinels, Leviathans etc. Once a Command Post has been established, SRSC Galaxy, Sovereign and Siege class vessels typically descend from orbit to atmospheric combat levels. Titans of this class will then serve as heavy artilery and close range heavy support units. The SRSC vessels will utilise their heavy PDM and Heavy Gauss arsenals to neutralise threats on the ground. Any target can be designated by a marine for destruction through RN.

Once in operation, for example within a city, a rapid strike will occur. RAY walkers accompanied by Scorpions and BMP III APC's will storm the city and divide into squads, which vary considerably depending on the caste configurations. A typical squad will consist of 35 men including operators. Most are accompanied by 2 Scorpions, 4 BMP III and 4 Warthog variants. The ground forces will then proceed to neutralise key installations: communication points, tactical headquarters and transport links. If strong resistance is encountered either the vessel above the city, air support, RAY or a Sentinel will be called to provide assistance. Once all objectives have been met the majority of Super Roman forces will typically withdraw to the battle line by now established by Sentinels and wait for further reinforcements.

Super Roman Light Vehicles

Warthog

SRSC Warthog

Crew: 1+1 and one in the rear

Weight: 3.25 tons

Armament: 12.7mm three barrelled machine gun

This is the light reconnaissance vehicle of the Super Roman arsenal. It is the standard and most reliable SRLC vehicle. It is an all-terrain vehicle and can be used to secure and procure enemy positions. It is used mainly as an anti air and anti infantry weapon. It is armed with a 3-barrelled link-less electric anti air weapon. It fires at 600RPM and has armour-penetrating capability. Horn is included.

Gauss Hog

Crew: 1+1 and one in the rear

Weight: 3.25 tons

Armament: 30mm Gauss cannon

This is identical to the LRV warthog, except a Gauss cannon replaces the 12.7 mm machine gun. It is more effective at destroying armoured vehicles than single infantry targets. An Asynchronous linear induction motor produces bipolar magnetic fields to fire a 30mm projectile at hyper-sonic velocity.

Shadow

Crew: 1

Weight 0.75 tons

Armament: None

The shadow is a heavy transport device. It is a tracked vehicle, however it is highly manoeuvrable. All heavy equipment and supplies are transported upon it. It is unarmed and an easy target. It often is supported by a contingent of marines.

Super Roman Heavy land Vehicles

Scorpion Tanks

SRSC Scorpion Mk III

Scorpion tanks were devised by Admiral Keyes as the premier Super Roman military armament. Since their creation the Scorpion has undergone numerous refits and design modifications. Currently four main variants operate within the Super Roman army. The Mark III and mark IV are the premier Urban combat vehicles, wheras the newer Dragoon variant, built in conjunction with the Gothrian military and the Scorpion MBT have only recently become a frequent deployment for the SRSC. Scorpions were designed primarily as an Urban warfare vehicle, treated more like a seige armament than a Main Battle Tank. This is different to most current militaries, the Main Battle Tank was devised long after the Mark III and mark IV.

The original Scorpion series was designed specifically for Urban warfare and hence are more heavily armoured and compact than many of the Alliance vehicles. To aid in its role as an Urban tank it operates on four SMART tracks, that move independantly, this allows any debris within an urban situation to be easily navigated. On these tracks are four "jumpseat" platforms in which equipment is stored and marines transported. The Scorpions role has become more diverse since the introduction of the BMP III, since it has become the main communications point for the squad. Each Scorpion incorperates a RomNet hub on the underside.

Scorpion Tank Armaments

As of April 2006, Scorpions have been fitted with Chobham mark III multi-layered active armour, developed in conjunction with RoudCorp Land Systems. Chobham armour is almost entirely classified, and is accepted by many to be the most effective MBT armour in existence. Chobham variants currently operate on the Super Roman Scorpions, Gothrian Challenger 2E (Dragoon) and the Roudland Challenger 2 and Warrior IFV, placing the Scorpion firmly in the category of well protected vehicles.

The Mark III and Mark IV weaponry is the differentiator between the two battle tanks. Hence the Mark IV can only be operated by a Spartan. The Mark IV utilises two main guns, replacing the incorporated machine gun. The Mark III uses a 125mm smoothbore main gun, much preferred in urban combat and both an 8.62 AP-T and a 12.7 mm Commanders Machine Gun, whereas the Mark IV incorporates both a 120mm and another 125mm Smoothbore main gun. This weapon is more a siege armament and is generally accompanied by a squad of higher ranking caste members. Each vehicle incorporates an automated fire and explosion suppression system, an all-digital fire control systems and laser scrambler system. The Thermal Observation and Gunnery Sight II (TOGS II), system is also incorporated into the electronic systems within the tank. The Scorpion also has gauss coils fitted beneath its amour to protect against EMP blasts generated by a nuclear detonation.

Both tanks use only HEAT rounds as they are relatively cheap and easy to manufacture. Many also carry DU rounds, though are not used as primary ammunition. A total of 45 rounds can be carried.

Scorpion Mark III

Crew: 1 Human (neural interface required) or 1 Spartan

Weight: 50 tons

Main Gun: 120 mm Smoothbore LRHD HEAT

Secondary Gun 8.62mm AP-T

Speed: 40Kph on road 28Kph off Road

This is the standard anti vehicle weapons platform now in service within the Super Roman arsenal. It fires a 120mm HEAT rounds. Incorperates both an 8.62 AP-T and a 12.7 mm Commanders Machine Gun.

Scorpion Mark IV

Crew: 1 Spartan

Weight: 50 tons

Main Gun: 120 mm Smoothbore LRHD HEAT

Secondary Gun 120mm Smoothbore LRHV HEAT

Speed: 30Kph on road 20Kph off Road

This monster is unlikely to replace the mark III as a Spartan can only operate it. It is solely used as a heavy demolitions and heavy artillery piece. It cannot rotate its secondary gun and cannot reach the speeds of a mark III.

Scorpion MBT

Crew: 1 Human (neural interface required) or 1 Spartan

Weight: 50 tons

Main Gun: 120 mm Smoothbore LRHD HEAT

Secondary Gun 8.62mm AP-T

The MBT is identical in specification to the above Mark III. Albeit one detail. The SMART Tracks are replaced on the Scorpion MBT with conventional Dual Tracks. This allows greater speed and thus a greater range on the Battlefield. The top on road speed stands at 65Kph with the off road speed at 45Kph. This is a vast increase over the Mark III Urban Scorpion. However this comes at a sacrifice to "Jumpseat" platforms and increased "Track Pod" Storage for marines.

Leviathan G6-52L Artillery

SRSC Leviathan

The ethos of the SRSC revolves around causing maximum damage to the enemy while at the same time taking minor casualties. Following the adoption of the PZH2000 by the Kegmenistan military, the Super Roman Space Core took an interest in such heavy artillery. Impressed by the demonstrations provided by the Kegmenistan military, Super Rome began to develop a similar system. However Super Rome believed that a more mobile artillery piece was needed. One that was perhaps more lightly armoured and lower in weight, but managed to incorporate the same rate of fire and power. It was thus that, with the assistance of the Kegmenistan military the Leviathan was created. The Howitzer is capable of firing a projectile 67km at a rate of 8 rounds per minute. This is a similar capability to the PZH2000. The implemented MRSI (Multiple Rounds Simultaneous Impact) technology and can land six (G6-52L variant) or five (G6-52) rounds simultaneously at targets up to 25 km away. In addition to the logistical mobility afforded by a wheeled chassis, the G6 is protected against counter battery fire and is able to defend itself in an unsecured area. The chassis is also mine protected. Each Leviathan vehicle takes the place of a BMP III if being transported in orbit, since both vehicles are of similar size

Specification

Crew: 5

Size: 10.4m x 3.4m x 3.5m

Weight: 48 tonnes

Speed: 85Kph on road or 75Kph off Road

Main Gun: 155 mm Howitzer (47 Rounds)

Super Roman Air Core

As already explained the SRAF is one of the least developed aspects of the Super Roman military war machine. It consists of mainly lightly armed transport vessels and fighter craft.

Pelican Dropship

SRSC Pelican

Crew: 1 pilot

Capacity: 18 marines

Main Gun: 14 mm pivoting AMG

Secondary Weapon: either rear “crossfire” turrets or rear Templar missile pods

Size: 20m x 7m x 5m

The Pelican Dropship, developed by captain Brakeman revolutionised transport. He developed the first dropship able to operate within the atmosphere and outside the atmosphere. It has since been used in a variety of roles, from simply transporting troops around the battlefield, to breaching and boarding battle cruisers in orbit. The missile variant can only contain four templar missiles due to the vast amount of energy required to fire them, Each Pelican is comfortably able to lift warthogs and light armour. Its titanium armour makes it relatively invulnerable to small arms fire. Many Spartans, including the Master Chief have customised their own pelicans with some "interesting" upgrades

Albatross Transport Ship

Crew: 1 pilot + 1 operator

Capacity: 56 marines

Main Gun: Two forward mounted pivoting 14mm AMG

Size: 30m x 9m x 7m

The Albatross, again developed by Captain Brakeman was also developed in conjunction with Roudlands dropship programme. The Albatross can carry a large contingent of marines and is capable of lifting nearly all heavy weapons equipment. It can hold scorpions on its underside and can also be used as a refuel and medicinal post once landed. These slow moving craft are vulnerable to land to air weaponry and are never deployed on the front line. Four Albatross transports are capable of linking together to carry a Dragon Fortress at low altitudes using a system of tritanium enforced support systems. A fifth Albatross craft is often required to lift a fully lined fortress. Two warthog variants can be held in storage pads at the side of the aircraft. This will limit the marine capacity to 24 however.

Longsword Defence Craft

A Longsword Fighter

Crew: 1 pilot

Capacity: NA

Main gun: 14mm pivoting AMG

Secondary Gun: 2 x 120mm homing ASPNKR rockets.

The Longsword craft are usually deployed to escort transports and dropships. They are highly manoeuvrable craft and have the ability to hover thanks to rotating exhaust jets. The ASPNKR (Air SPNKR) rockets are effective against ground targets and air targets alike. They are lightly armoured but extremely quick. Two may dock onto an Albatross fuselage for refuelling and transport. The Longsword fighters are also capable of orbital flight and are carried mainly aboard the Venom and Triumph.

Super Roman Ray Project

Initiated by Colonel Ford, this programme was set up to provide greater flexibility to the Super Roman military. With the innovation of Dropzone technology and its development to drop even the heaviest equipment into battle the Space and Land core began to combine resources to produce a more manoeuvrable, lighter but more powerful land vehicle. Colonel Ford also believed that Super Rome could make use of the Ocean and it was decided to develop RAY on two fronts: space and sea. This has led to the production of two RAY machine types. One of which is marine based, the other is atmosphere based. The main difference between the two is that the marine RAY has marine propulsion drives whereas the space core version has atmospheric stabilisers.

Super Roman Ray

RAY itself stands at 40 metres tall, it has two powerful legs, allowing it to travel on all terrain types. It is extremely mobile and used in Urban Warfare. It is operated by one Spartan pilot embedded in the nose. Its armaments include a powerful tail (used for propulsion under water) which can be used as a wrecking ball. Armaments include 20 missile pods attached to the rear legs and a MMAC device in the nose. Along the nodules containing either marine or atmospheric drives four Gauss cannons are operated by a targeting computer. This machine is used as a shock device, much like most of the hardware used by the Super Roman Core. It complements the Marine contingents on the ground and is used often to spearhead attacks.

Super Roman RAY

Crew Complement: 1 pilot

Weight: 50 tonnes

Primary Weapon: MMAC

Secondary Weapons: 4 Gauss cannons, 20 Templar missiles, powerful tail.

Height: 40m

Super Roman Dragon Fortress

The Dragon Fortress is the newest addition to the SRLC. It is designed to operate as a super heavy, mobile weapons platform and command post. Five are planned for construction, with four already in operation. Super Rome decided it needed a land-based hub of operations when engaging the enemy. Many other nations specialising in air, sea and land warfare all had some form of command base. Without communications from the space fleet the Super Roman army could not function at optimum efficiency. Before, the Spartans could only access RomNet by setting up portable signal posts and interfacing with them in difficult conditions. This was time consuming and provided too much information too late. Thus the fortress was constructed to act as a permanent unbreakable uplink to RomNet. From here information from the space fleet can be relayed directly to all vehicle operators, marines and Spartans alike. The introduction of a fortress onto the battlefield will allow open chatter along the network and will provide continuous tactical readouts to all marines.

The Dragon fortress can "bury" itself in the ground to form a semi-permanent base of operations. The supporting legs can fold in on themselves, lowering the body of the vehicle to the floor. This allows deployment en masse from the rear of the vehicle. This will provide an open hangar for repairs, medical assistance and tactical readouts. The rear door can be closed in an emergency and lock all vehicles inside.

It is powered by a stripped-down version of a fusion reactor. This is a tiny reactor compared with those used in the space fleet, but enough to power the propulsion drive. The six supporting legs allow this beast to manoeuvre, although slowly around the battlefield. The legs are most certainly its weakest point, especially if under attack from bombers. The fusion reactor powers the legs to lift in synchronisation, keeping the vehicle suspended in the air. The legs are situated on the side of the vehicle to allow the fortress to enter "trench" mode. The reactor is often near full capacity when engaged, so has to stand stationary when firing the MAC gun as this requires a vast amount of energy.

SRSC/SRLC Dragon Fortress

Crew: 3 Spartan Pilots, 12 marine operators.

Capacity: 6 Scorpion vehicles, 12 warthog variants, 200 marines

Complement: Can accommodate 500 marines when embedded.

Weight: 500 tons

Main Weapon: LMAC rotating turret.

Secondary Weapons: 2 MMAC 6 forward mounted LRHV/LRHD cannons, 3 rear-mounted Gauss cannons, 4 side mounted anti air 12.7mm 3 barrelled MG.

Piloted by only the most experienced Spartans and experienced marines. Its permanent uplink to RomNet allows it to provide tactical readouts to all infantry on the battlefield. Its primary role is heavy anti vehicle and building. It is slow moving and heavily armoured. Usually escorted by a contingent of scorpions and warthogs to provide cover from air assault. Its ceramic titanium armour, similar to that used on the space fleet is a metre thick, rendering it almost immune to small arms fire. Has the ability to embed itself in the terrain to provide a semi-permanent base of operations for allied troops and vehicles. The LMAC turret takes 1.5 minutes to reload and the vehicle has to be stationary to fire.

Super Roman Infantry

Essentially there are four castes of infantry: marines, vanguard, Helljumpers and Spartans.

Marines

These are the standard SRSC infantry. They carry standard SRSC weaponry and can operate all vehicles except Dragon Fortresses, Scorpion mark IV tanks and RAY mechanical assault vehicles. They are highly trained and versatile in all forms of combat, from land assault to space assault. Many are trained in the "Ford" training programmes. Each is issued with high-density Kevlar armour and the best boots the SRSC can offer. A good soldier always looks after his feet. A marine may be promoted to a higher caste if exemplary service is demonstrated.

Vanguard

These veteran marines have distinguished themselves beyond the call of duty. They are well respected and rewarded. Often seen in command of a contingent of marines, they form the first form of command structure within the military. Each is equipped with high-grade Kevlar armour interlaced with MJOLNIR threads. It is incredibly versatile. Each has been trained in a variety of command scenarios aboard the Insuperable and has experience is special operations training aboard the Intimidator. These marines are often seen carrying heavier weaponry than ordinary marines. The famed Lt Johnson was one of the founding Vanguard members and despite several requests by the high command he has refused to join the Helljumper division. He insists that his place is with the marines and ground combat. His wish to "put pain to the enemy" is well respected and is often seen conversing with the master chief. Lt Johnson has since become the role model for all marines.

Helljumpers

These are the elite. They are the most battle hardened, well-trained, experienced marines that the Super Roman military has to offer. Recently trained in "Dropzone" technology aboard the Inquisitor. The Spartan warriors only surpass this caste of marines. Few in number, the Helljumpers are often used as elite Special Forces support for the Spartans. They are specially trained in boarding and overcoming enemy vessels. They are often pilots of aircraft and commanders aboard heavier vehicles. Their HD Kevlar armour is similar to that which the vanguard carry, although many have interlaced theirs with tritanium fibres. They are trained in using all forms of weaponry and can often be seen supporting with SPNKR launchers and Sniper rifle variants.

MAC Weaponry and the Super Roman Armoury

MAC GUNS

SRSC Invigilator Platform

The primary offensive armament of SRSC spacecraft are Magnetic Accelerator Cannons (MACs). These use powerful superconducting magnets to accelerate projectiles ranging in mass from 600 (metric)tons in the case of smaller Titans, and 1500 tons in the case of MAC platforms. These projectiles are composed of depleted Uranium cores, Titainum-A and/or Tungsten. In Super MAC platforms, they are accelerated to over 80% of the speed of light by linear accelerator coils (coilgun). Vehicle-basd MACs have a lower velocity. The MAC gun operates on the underside of the ship and is rougly 200m long. A further 600 m is used to store MAC rounds. The cannons fire metal slugs using a system of magnetic fields down a long shaft, increasing the projectiles' velocity until they carry an incredible amount of energy. The ship-based models use ferric or ferrous cores, while station-based versions use either depleted uranium or ferric tungsten rounds

A round is created through the smelting process. Tungsten and Titanium are combined after being liquidised in the blast furnace. The molten metal will then be poured into a specific mould allowing a small bore hole in the base of the round, in which the Uranium core will be installed once cooled. New production techniques using tungsten carbide have allowed the weight of the slugs to decrease. The hardened layer reduces the need to use such high grade tungsten in the round production process. Thus lighter lower grade tungsten has been used.

A MAC round is created either on the mainland Super Rome and transported via transport vessel or created on Unity, the only ship large enough to accomodate production facilities. This is also where the majority of MAC rounds are stockpiled for vessels in orbit. Each uranium core is just over 10m long. This is relatively small, but it is only used as the detonator in the explosion process. Once shattered on impact it will detonate and thus create the shrapnel effect present in a MACII blast.

MAC Stations

There are 15 MAC stations in geostationary orbit around Super Rome. Each incorporates light thrusters allowing the heavy MAC armaments to manoeuvre. Each platform fires a 1500 tonne MAC round 80% the speed of light. Each maintains a complement of 300 marines and 200 engineers. The device was constructed to ensure that Super Rome was well defended from orbital attacks and to ensure that, unlikely as it may seem, that other hostile alien races would think twice about attacking the Alliance. It is a stark warning to any potential aggressive nation in the Alliance not to attack.

Other MAC weaponry

SMAC - short range, low power MAC on warthogs. Capable of punching holes clear through enemy armour.

MMAC - Medium Range, Medium strength MAC used on Dragon Fortresses. Capable of punching even larger holes at medium range in enemy armour

LMAC - Long range MAC used on Hellfire version of Dragon Fortress and Overlord Vessels. A high-powered version of the Land MAC devices. Capable of being fired from extreme range, usually to destroy entrenched positions or buildings.

MAC - A now obsolete weapon that used to be placed upon Super Roman Titans. Roudland's Space Agency was evaluating the potential of these weapons when the 2006 refit occurred, and has since dropped any plans to develpo an equivelent weapon for its Concilitor class battleships. This weapon is highly devastating at all ranges. It is capable of punching large holes in enemy vessels, often crippling them. Takes time to reload.

MAC II - The now mainstay MAC device of the fleet. These devices will punch massive holes in enemy ships. The slug is fired with such velocity that the energy does not dissipate once it hits the enemy vessel. Within the ship a shrapnel effect will be felt as supercharged energy ricochets off materials within the enemy vessels. This will dramatically increase the level of damage dealt, but can only be powered by devices such as the HFusion reactors

SRSC Armoury

M7D Pistol

Standard SRSC sidearm. Recoil operated zinc fed handgun. Fires seven 14.7mm semi armour piercing rounds. May include scope.

SP5 AM Sniper Rifle

Spartan operated sniper rifle. Gas operated magazine fed weapon, utilises a smart liked scope with 10-x magnification. Fires 18mm armour piercing, fin stabilised, discarding sabot rounds. Sheer size and limited capacity means the weapon is to be used sparingly. Cannot be fired from shoulder.

MS5 AM Sniper Rifle

Marine operated Sniper Rifle. Primarily used by the Helljumper and Vanguard divisions. This stripped down variant fires 13.5 mm rounds instead of 18mm rounds. May be fired from soldier

M30 SPNKR

Common anti-vehicle weapon. Shoulder fired, 2-x magnification. Fires 120mm shaped charge, highly explosive tracking rockets. Also effective against infantry positions.

M90 Shotgun

Powerful pump action shotgun. Magazine fed 8-gauge magnum 4.5 mm rounds with strong recoil. Favoured by the Spartans and Helljumper marines. Highly devastating from close range.

Mounted Machine Gun. This weapon requires deployment. It is used primarily to set up defensive perimeters and bombarding enemy positions. Will fire 500 RPM and is a 3-barrelled variant of the M60 LMG warthog machine gun.

M9 Fragmentation Grenade

Fuse activates half a second after striking the surface. Produces large explosion.

Vehicle Shells

LRHD - Long Range High Density shell

Used on Scorpion mark III and IV vehicles. Detonate on impact; creating a strong Vacuum, so powerful it shreds material from enemy armour. Once air enters the vacuum an explosion occurs, firing all material within the vacuum at high velocity everywhere. Also used in combination with LRHV on a Dragon Fortress

LRHV Long Range High Velocity shell

These are used on all Scorpion Mark I, Mark II and Mark IV vehicles. Can also be used in conjunction with LRHD launchers on a Dragon Fortress. Will detonate on impact to cause a large explosion.

M60 LLAMG (vehicle Mounted)

Used on Dragon Fortress as an anti-air weapon. Also used as the rear mounted machine gun on all standard Warthogs. A 3 barrelled, link less, electric, anti air weapon. Fires 600 RPM.

M70 Gauss Cannon (vehicle mounted)

Used as rear guns on the Dragon Fortress and on the rear of a Gauss Hog: Asynchronous linear induction motor produces bipolar magnetic field to fire 25mm projectile at hyper-sonic velocity.

EMP

electromagnetic pulse was first observed during high altitude nuclear weapon detonations. An electromatic pulse lasts for less than a nanosecond, and travels outward in every direction as an electromagnetic shock wave. This shock wave will induce heavy currents in all electronic gadgets that mainly contain semiconducting and conducting materials. This produces immense heat that simply fries the circuitry inside and destroys them. As such, while not being directly responsible for the loss of lives, these weapons are capable of disabling electronic systems on which industrialized nations are highly dependent.

EMPS

Orbital variant of the EMP above, contains a higher yield. When fired ship to ship EMP devices follow the principle of a HESH round. Once the missile impacts at high velocity on the enemy ship and penetrates its outer hull the EMP will be triggered. This will allow the pulse to travel within the atmosphere of the vessel, rendering it harmless.

Templar Missiles

Come in many variations with varying yields from 10Kg-15KG Air to Air yields to over 60Kg yields on some of the Space vessels. Each missile is guided, both by infra-red and satellite. Many of the orbital variants operate via a homing mechanism built into the nose.

AI

Artificial Intelligence was created at the HAL labs in Sparta. It is a computer Software programme that evolves on a regular basis and adapts to regulate ships systems more effectively.

Super Roman Military Strength

SRSC marines on active duty: 650,000

SRSC Special Forces: 150,000

SRLC Marines on active duty: 300,000

SRAF pilots on active duty: 50,000

SRSC personnel: 1,150,000

SRRC scientists: 1,000,000

However these numbers are approximate for members already in the Super Roman military. If in an invasion situation RomNet estimates that 2.5 million individuals would be eligible to protect Super Rome successfully.
