The Federation of Svecia is a socialist state heavily dominated by the government and totally dedicated to making its people more equal. The nation was the founder of the former Confedeation of Libertarians before moving to the European Union and revitalizing that region. It is currently residing in the region of Sverige.
The climate of Svecia is known for its coldness, but the country recieves much sunshine in the summer and temperature averages vary from 4C in the winter to 28C in the summer. The landscape varies from coastal regions in the south to mountains in the north, with the central region being dominated by forests. The Bäver River bisects the country and provides an enourmous source of power and fresh water for the country. The government and the people are very environmentally aware and work hard to keep their country free from pollution and ecological destruction.
Svecia is a model country for the peaceful cohabitance of multiple ethnic groups. The region was originally founded by Swedes, and the Swedish population still makes up the largest ethnic group. The Dutch inhabitants are the second largest ethnic group and also the holders of the royal family. Soon after settlement by the Swedish tribes, Svecia was engulfed in a civil war between the Swedes and the native Catholic Germans. Control of the land was regained by the Swedes after they asked for help from the House of Orange. King Willem invaded Svecia and helped the Swedes regain control in return for crowning Willem King of Svecia. The Orange family still retains its monarchical position. The German population is still the third largest in Svecia, but most of the Catholic population has left, and most of the remaining ones are of Italian or Portuguese decent. Lutherans make up almost 70% of the total population with Calvinists making up the majority of the rest. A mere 4% of the population is still Catholic.
Despite the protestant background, Svecia remains socialist and very progressive. The Lutheran population is quite liberal in comparison with Protestand populations of other countries. The government attempts to even out income distribution and has created many social programs to help the populance out. The capitol of Vilämna is the largest city in addition to being the best known.
Svecians are mad about their national sport of voetbal. The national team (Landslag), also known as the Lightning in reference to their old yellow uniforms as well as the speed of their players, has participated in every World Cup except the first one ever held. The Svecikan history is one to be proud of: only three times since qualification became mandatory, has the national team failed to play in the World Cup finals. The Lightning have never made it to the championship match, but have won the third place match twicee, once in World Cup 5 and again in World Cup 7. The most memorable run was in World Cup 7 when the team defied all predictions before falling in the semifinal. They bounced back to defeat Bedistan in extra time to win third.
The Svecikan Premier League is not world reknowned, but Kystig FC is the best known team, having won the championship a total of 12 times in the 22 year history. Many national team player play in the Melmond premier league.
