Swahilabad formerly known as Tatu is the third largest City and the third largest Oblast in Coocoostan. The City was formerly the Capital of Darrowmere, making it one of three cities in the country that were the capital of another nation. The city is different from any other in the country, as it is a tangled web of mud houses, some apartment blocks and a few taller buildings. The city is also one of the most impoverished in the country, with the problem being exported to the other cities of the former Darrowmere. Swahilabad was also the site of a violent insurgency, which has largely fizzled out.
Geography
The city has an extremely low skyline, with roads arranged almost at random, giving it a reputation of being the most confusing city in the nation to navigate. Swahilabad also has problems with running water, garbage disposal and communicable diseases, but these problems are on the downturn since the downturn in insurgent violence, after the initial invasion of Darrowmere by Coocoostan.
Culture
Swahilabad has a very unique culture, with traditional Darrowmerian music and dancing being popular, with Darrowmere as a sort of seat of Darrowmeri culture. The city has rejected most advances from the rest of the nation, preferring instead to support Darrowmerian businessmen and companies.
Sport
Team name | Sport | League | Home venue |
---|---|---|---|
Tatu Juniors | Soccer | Coocoostan Soccer Federation First Division | Darrowmere National Stadium |
Vipers Tatu | Soccer | Coocoostan Soccer Federation First Division | Darrowmere National Stadium |
Swahilabad has only two sports teams, which enjoy an intense rivalry, Vipers Tatu and Tatu Juniors. Both played in the past season in the CSF's First Division. The teams also are rivals with both the Ixtlan Chiefs and Balimo, which was recently promoted into the league. Also popular at National stadium is the Darrowmere national track meet, which instead of determining the Darrowmerian national champions, determines who will represent the Darrowmere Lions sports club, headquartered at the stadium.
Universities
Swahilabad is home to the Darrowmere National University, which is currently in a battle with the Interior Secretariat to maintain accreditation.
Transportation
Road
Swahilabad is located on the A8 freeway, which continues to the west to Norel'sk and the east to San Fierro. There is also a road connection to the CM's military airfield.
Air
Swahilabad has two airports. The former Darrowmere Airport was knocked down due to its being condemned in 2006 and has been replaced with a smaller terminal. Critics say this was to prevent international air traffic from moving to the airport from other areas. The Coocoostan Military maintains a separate airfield to the west of the city, which is off limits to non-emergency traffic.
