Sweyn III

After the premature death of his mother, Queen Hildegaard, Prince Sweyn ascended the throne as King Sweyn III. Within months of his investiture as king, it became clear that Sweyn III suffered from the same ailment that claimed his mother's life. The new king struggled against the fevers for four years before succumbing in 1703. He died without marrying and left no heirs. He was succeeded by his brother, King Olof.
