I am the authors friend and I would just like to add (Undoubtedly he will add more when he sees this) that he only placed that copyright there because he may choose to use this information in a book at a later stage, and it was just to show that he held the respective rights for the creation of the contents. Of course I have read your link and understand why you said it should be removed, but that's just a little insight into why it was there.
