Meaning/Definition of Libertarianism

I think this article would be much better if instead of having all these case studies, instead simply explained what libertarianism means better and explain a libertarian society. Lightman 23:35, 27 August 2006 (GMT)

I went with the "case study" type format, with heavy emphasis on quantification, in order to try to maintain a neutral point of view as well as to ensure that the contents of the article is specific to NationStates, and not just a reproduction of information available elsewhere that needlessly takes up space on NSWiki. Thus, the focus is on trying to understand the way in which NationStates tracks nation statistics and such, while more general information and/or qualitative analysis is made available via a link to Wikipedia at the top of the article. The main issue is that "libertarianism" is a word utilized by many different ideologies, left-wing and right-wing. This, in my mind, makes the emphasis on NPOV and quantitative analysis especially important. For example, keeping the discussion focused on objective nation statistics, which operate the same way for everyone, allows a comparison between left-wing and right-wing variants which hopefully keeps bias and ideological dispute to a minimum. --DissonantCognition 01:46, 3 September 2006 (GMT)
