Many features of this map look typical of a former European colony in Africa. Was this deliberate? -- |Knoot|KNOOtalk 10:34, 19 Mar 2005 (GMT)

Unlikely, seeing as the main map is more resembling... Spain... Of sorts. Very... Vaguely so. Although yes, the parallels are rather... Fascinating. Côte D'Ivoire or Ghana (I would have said Sierra Leone, but the coast is a bit to southern for that...)?

PS: Only two noticeable highways? Odd... Although probably fitting the excessive urbanisation and the uselessness of desert + wastelands, assuming major public transport. But then they wouldn't really be important :P Rezo 17:36, 19 Mar 2005 (GMT)

  • Well, actually, I took Nanakaland from the old TKotM map, enlarged it, and greatly modified it. As for looking like Spain, I basically took the old TKoTM map which was a peninsula and added ocean to the top and added a small area with room for future regional expansion (while keeping the peninsula idea). Any resemblences to any RL areas are purely coincidental. - Nanakaland 19:13, 19 Mar 2005 (GMT)
  • About the highways, there are basically three urban areas. There is also a road linking Port Nanaka to the forest but it is nothing major. Nanakaland is a massive nation, but most of it is unusable ground. Those that do live in the grassland are linked by minor roads off of the two highlands and the only people that live in the desert are rebels who don't want to be linked (and for RPing purposes, no one knows the location of the village, thus "Hidden Villge"). Mainly elves live in the forests, but the Western Nanakan Highway is still there, primarilly because most of the farmland branches off of the Western or Eastern Highways. If I included the minor roads off of the highways and the small farming villages, it would not be able to fit on a reasonable sized map. Take note, though, that this massive nation has a sizable desert, mountains, and wasteland and so much of it is unpopulated. - Nanakaland 19:13, 19 Mar 2005 (GMT)
  • My responses turned out to be longer than I thought, so I bolded the important sentences in each. - Nanakaland 19:13, 19 Mar 2005 (GMT)
