UN HDI Nonsense
I don't think that we should include UNHDI numbers in wiki articles because they're entirely arbitary - see my arguments in Talk:Knootoss#UN_HDI_Nonsense. --Pantocratoria 14:55, 26 January 2006 (GMT)
- About as arbitrary as your capital, your GDP, your leader, and everything else. You can campaign against them, perhaps on the forums, but for now, if anyone wants to RP your HDI, I don't see why we should stop them. → Ceo \ squawk 21:41, 27 January 2006 (GMT)
- GDPs can be provided by calculators, although the decision as to which exactly is to be used is an arbitrary one. As for all the other things, they're quite different since they're not a means for comparison between nations. The webgame provides our framework for comparing between nations, the idea of an RPed UNHDI being produced out of the blue doesn't sit right with me... maybe I'll make a calculator and offer it for people to use though instead of just bitching about it. --Pantocratoria 04:09, 28 January 2006 (GMT)
- I have created a formula and spreadsheet to calculate an HDI, which I used for my nation. The formula may be found at Ceorana Department of State Human Development Index.
