UN HDI Nonsense

I don't think that we should include UNHDI numbers in wiki articles because they're entirely arbitary - see my arguments in Talk:Knootoss#UN_HDI_Nonsense. --Pantocratoria 14:55, 26 January 2006 (GMT)

About as arbitrary as your capital, your GDP, your leader, and everything else. You can campaign against them, perhaps on the forums, but for now, if anyone wants to RP your HDI, I don't see why we should stop them. → Ceo \ squawk 21:41, 27 January 2006 (GMT)
GDPs can be provided by calculators, although the decision as to which exactly is to be used is an arbitrary one. As for all the other things, they're quite different since they're not a means for comparison between nations. The webgame provides our framework for comparing between nations, the idea of an RPed UNHDI being produced out of the blue doesn't sit right with me... maybe I'll make a calculator and offer it for people to use though instead of just bitching about it. --Pantocratoria 04:09, 28 January 2006 (GMT)
I have created a formula and spreadsheet to calculate an HDI, which I used for my nation. The formula may be found at Ceorana Department of State Human Development Index. If you have some experience with programming, I'd say it wouldn't be difficult to make a nice calculator for it. → Ceo \ squawk 04:28, 28 January 2006 (GMT)

"True" Republic?

I'm not quite sure what the discussion of Pacitalia's model of government is on about when it talks about whether Pacitalia is or isn't a true republic. I have never heard of any distinction being made as to whether a republic is truly a republic or not on the basis of whether it has a president or not. I am under the impression that a republic is a state in which the people are themselves sovereign (as opposed to a monarch). Since it's a fairly prominent, early paragraph, maybe some explanation of what a true republic is would be in order, even if it is just a link to a Wikipedia article (and Wikipedia:Republic doesn't clear it up for me) --Pantocratoria 14:14, 18 February 2006 (GMT)

Actually, you know what? True in this case might be a classic case of good ol' redundancy. ;)
I'm a republic, pure and simple, where as you said, the people are sovereign, not the monarch. I'll just get rid of that "true republic" nonsense. Thanks for catching that. (( Pacitalkia )) Time sent: 19:14, 18 February 2006 (GMT)

Awesome map!

Just popped in to say that. Terrific map you've got there! Might I ask how did you make it? If I remember correctly, you had a different version sometime ago. I recognize it's a somewhat altered version of Mexico, but it has always been like that. Cheers! --Wingarde 15:21, 12 March 2006 (GMT)
