Actually, you don't need a mantling, supporter, or any of that other weirdery. Many coat of arms (ex. that of Poland) consist of only a shield.

Oh, and I am fully aware that my country's coat of arms isn't a traditional coat of arms. I can still call it a coat of arms if I want to. --swilatia 22:02, 7 November 2007 (GMT)
