Talon
From NSwiki, the NationStates encyclopedia.
- The name Talon has also other meanings.
The talon has been the currency of the Democratic States of Wingarde ever since its independence from Great Britain. It got its name from the claw of the hawk, Wingarde's national animal.
It was originally weak, compared to the powerful currencies of many other nations, mainly due to the isolationist policies and closed economy. Ever since the country's integration to the international scene, the talon has been progressively gaining strength, and now rivals the world's most valuable currencies, having left the dollar far behind several years ago. The exchange rate, as of November 2006, is 1 talon = U$S 1.8842.
The symbol for the talon is Ŧ, and its abbreviation is WGTL.
