Tarana Police Department

The Tarana Police Department is the municipal police force for the city (and correspondingly the Grand Duchy of Tarana. Headed by a Chief of Police and ultimately under the direct authority of the Sovereign, it was formed in 1991 in accordance with the personal wishes of High Queen Agwene who had developed a great interest in modernizing the Resurgent Dream. Prior to this time, Tarana had been policed by a Watch consisting of one captain and 12 constables. The TPD provides police services to the citizens of Tarana and supplements the many national security agencies based in the city. It maintains 3,003 sworn officers and 612 civilian support staff. It exercises concurrent jurisdiction with the Royal Guard.
