The Empress Tasarië officially reigned for 50 years. However, in 790 CE she effectively reigned in over her insane father, the emperor Erulocuil, and in 797 she got the support of the Calaquendi and became regent in his name. It is rumored that it was her who had her own father killed in 801 so that she could assume full leadership of the empire. It was during her reign that the arts flourished and she had the Ivory Palace built in her honor. She was fair, yet ruthless, in 832 there was a rebellion by the Umanyar and she had every last rebel publicly hanged until their bodies rotted away and fell apart. She was both loved and hated by her subjects and is known in history as “Tasarië the Magnificent.”
