Short Biography
Tessa Katie Somin was born in the Neudegg capital, Neudek, and educated at University College Neudek. She earned a degree in Marketing and Business Management. In her early career she worked abroad in the Community of Uot for the Uot Uranium Mining Company Marketing Department.
In 1985 she returned to Neudegg having been a high profile donor to the Neudegg Konservativer Party to stand for Parliament in the Figgin Collection Constituency. The Figgin Collection seat is a collection of very small villages and farms in a rural area of west Neudegg; it has been a safe Neudegg Konservativer Party seat for many years.
In Parliament Somin has consistently campaigned for a reduction in the state’s Education programme in order to provide tax cuts. When she became leader of her party in 2002 she made this an official opposition policy. She has also said if she was in power she would change the flag of Neudegg to remove the red bars which she says shows "clear political bias towards the Social Democrats". Somin has announced she will not be standing for the Presidency in 2007 but rather will continue her work in Parliament saying infamously of the Presidency for her party off record: it’s not winnable anyway.
