At a Glance:
The Zennethian Imperium is a massive galactic Empire that spans almost the entire Parabellum Galaxy. The Imperium was forged over the course of 90,000 Years(And 600,000 Years after the fall of the Holy Zennethian Empire) and progress to reclaim the former territory, while slow, has been good and productive.
The Zenneth are known for their huge military, particularly their space-going Navy, which currently fields millions of military ships across the galaxy. The Imperium is also the main source of Sentience in the Parabellum Galaxy. Notable for it's art, literature, advanced language and a high technology level.
History
The History of the Zennethian Era is mainly confined to three eras of it's existence. The Zennethian species is ancient beyond most species of the galaxy with an estimated Six Million years since the fabeled "Rise to Sentience"(The time in which the Zenneth became intillgent beings).
The Ancient Zennethian Empire:
The First and most mysterious Era since the Rise to Sentience, the ancient Zennethian Empire was alledgedly an extremely advanced nation, both in terms of culture and techonolgy. At the hight of it's strength, the Empire was rumored to have fielded over one hundred billion troops, as well as ruling over several galaxies, and not just their own.
How exactly it fell is unknown, and widely disputed among scholars. Their is little to be learned from exsgavating Vis Vires, as almost all of Vis Vires was destroyed and rebuilt by the Holy Zenneth Empire. So instead, archeologists must turn to other planets in the Galaxy to further uncover the mystery of the first Empire.
Among the theories of the First Empires fall are that a great civil war engulfed the Nation, or that they were eventually destroyed by an equally as powerful alien race, or an alien plague that killed Trillions of Zenneth.
The Holy Zennethian Empire
In stark contrast to it's predecessor state, The Holy Zennethian Empire was not nearly as advanced, and almost any form of culture not relating to religion was unheard of. The state was a highly oppresive dystopia and a techno-theocracy, based on the God-like worship of their Emperor.
The Emperor was alledgly the man that reformed the Zennethian empire after the first ones collapse, and was evidently an infinitly powerful "Psycher"(A person that posses both telekenitic and telepathic abilities).
This Imperium had an inquistion, carried out crusades and destroyed most of Vis Vires as the state considered their ancestors "Heretics". The Holy Zennethian Empire was also unquestionably the most sexist, voilent, genocidal and xenophobic one in the entire history of the species.
Non-Zennethian Sentients were slaughtered billions at a time, Zennethian women had almost all rights from them stripped leaving little more for them to do but remain domestic, and the Empire remained at a near constant state of war.
While many former provinces of the old Empire were regained, it was nothing compared to the former Zennethian state. The Government was also less centralized then the former one, and systems fell under the control of Counts, Dukes, and regional kings. This also greatly contributed to this states fall.
While the Holy Empire lasted for thousands of years, the rise of false prophets, Religous rift, and the succesion of the afore mentioned regional governments eventually tore this state apart and a massive civil war began. The Emperor is now thought to have been killed by his own Imperial Guard as part of a bloody coupe, though one that also reportedly failed. The entire galaxy then fell into a state of war-lordisim for tens of thousands of years.
Neo-Zennethian Imperium
The current state of the Zenneth. It is almost universally considered "The New Golden Age" for the Zenneth race. This empire was rapidly forged after the fall of the Holy Empire, but it is all the same mighty.
Over the course of it's relatively breif history, gigantic leaps have been made in techology and culture. Free thought is now encouraged, not denounced. Poetry, art and philispohy is praised, and not controlled.
This era is considered the strongest since the Ancient Empire, as it currently rules almost all of the Galaxy, fields a huge military of billions of soldiers and millions of warships, divided into hundreds of thousands of fleets.
How ever, controversy is no stranger to this era. Religion, specifically the worship of the long-dead Emperor of the Holy Empire is almost universally frowned upon and swept under the rug. The massive city of Vis Vires has zero temples or churchs. And the rights of non-Zennethian sentients have been in debate for hundreds of years. Thousands of protests(strangely, this were lead by mostly Zennethian people and not the aliens it was held for) and riots have encouraged the empire to give the Xenos more rights, and huge advancements have been made in the civil rights area.
One thing remains from the days of old how ever. The Emperor's word is still law, and his will cannot be contested.
