The Antrium Beacon-Times is a privately owned newspaper with headquarters in Sivaris, Antrium. It also has offices in many other Antrian cities, such as Marnezjalis, Port Spitz, Corico, and Devros.

History

The Antrium Beacon-Times started out in 1984 as the Sivaris Times. The Times was a small, local newspaper that covered mostly Sivaris news and some of the surrounding areas. They covered news from American Federalist and a few stories from neighboring countries.

In 1992, the Sivaris Times and the Balton Beacon merged, forming the West Federalist Beacon-Times. This new newspaper provided much more international news, but still covered news relevant to the western part of American Federalist. They continued as the West Federalist Beacon-Times until 2005, when the American Federalist government collapsed.

The Antrium Beacon-Times was founded on August 12, 2005, the day Antrium was founded. They covered the founding of the country and the government's plans in detail, and at this time were the only newspaper in the country, as most other newspapers had stopped publishing during the American Federalist/Riconiaa Refugee Crisis. They gained many readers during their first week, and then gained even more when they became the first Antrian newspaper to start an online version of their newspaper on August 18th.

They were also the first newspaper to print in all three of Antrium's official languages: English, French, and Alvésin. It is now the country's most read newspaper.

Distribution

The Antrium Beacon-Times is sold at almost all bookstores and newspaper vendors in the country. There are also many newspaper machines in cities throughout Antrium where the day's paper can be purchased. The most popular way of buying the newspaper is by getting it delivered. Millions of Antrians get the Beacon-Times delivered to their door each morning.
The Beacon-Times can also be purchased in nations throughout the International Democratic Union. The French and English versions of the newspaper are available in most countries in the region. However, the Alvésin version is only available in Antrium.

Focus

The Antrium Beacon-Times is known for its exclusive coverage of important Antrian events, such as the Alvés-Navlan discovery and annexation, the choice of Sivaris as capital, and the Sivaris Wild Hares' scores in the IDU Football Tournament. It covers international events as well, but these stories are not made available in the online version of the newspaper.
