However, in 1870 things would change. A violent group known as the Green Army overthrew the both king & queen. For five months, the island was ravaged by civil war. Every member of the royal family was hunted, captured, and publicly beheaded. A new government took control. The leader of the Green Army, General Francis Duman, claimed his position as ruler of the land.
