History

The Cairhienen Corporation was the largest corporation in Eternia, and remains so, before the break away countries formed; although it's position is being encroched upon by newer companies from the Confederacy of Liberal Men and Women. The Cairhienen Corporation decided that it was powerful enough to deserve independence. The Cairhienen Corporation gathered four other corporations and founded a new nation, the Daes Dae-Mar, "The Game of Houses" in the old tongue, which represents the power struggle between those corporations.

Economy

The Daes Dae-Mar is a corporation's heaven. The Corporations not only have free reign in the nation, they are the nation itself. There is no government to limit the actions of the corporations, giving the nation a very strong economy.

There is a major problem of income inequality. ~48% of the resources of the country are controlled by only 1% of the people. The top 1% have an average household income of 4 million marks/year, while the rest average only 43,000 Marks/year.

The energy market is dominated by Cairhienen Corporate Energy (CCE). The CCE generates it's electricity through various means, which ever is cheapest for the location it is generating in without care for pollution or the like. CCE charges a total of 0.10 Marks/kWh, but drops the cost to 0.01 Marks/kWh for other Cairhienen Corporations (who account for half of all energy consumption). The average personal charge is ~10,000 Marks a year. CCE posts a yearly revenue of over 6.4 trillion Marks, or ~53% of the GDP.
