The '''Eurasian Republic Prime Ministerial election''' took place from 18th January to 28th January, with the actual polling taking place from 26th January to 28th January. As expected by most observers, the two running candidates were SocioDemocratic Liberal Party (SDLP) leader and Prime Minister Sir Callum McKayle, and Liberal Socialist leader and opposition leader Dr Joseph Edwards. Although early results put the two parties neck-and-neck, the eventual runaway winner, with over 70% of the vote, was Sir Callum McKayle.

The Eurasian Republic Prime Ministerial election took place from 18th January to 28th January, with the actual polling taking place from 26th January to 28th January.

Campaign

The SDLP, as the incumbents and by far the biggest party, campaigned on a often simple message of 'we've achieved much, and we'll continue to do so.". Key achievements highlighted were the trials of people like George and John Stockdale, freedom of speech for all and the building of the Republic's foreign status with many new alliances.

The LSP campaigned on a strong campaign of 'the alternative'. The focus of the campaign was that although the SDLP had done well in years past, it was time for a change in government and to look to the future. The campaign was reasonably successful, with the LSP taking an impressive 29.6% - a very good result against tough SDLP opposition. The focus of the campaign during the two debates was freedom and economic issues (Edwards was at the time Chancellor of the Exchequer). There was also strong support for reconciliation between the regions of The Eurasian Republic, Albion and Pax Britannica, and on the stand against terrorism.

Controversy

Joseph Edwards was hit by the revelations late in the campaign about his past regional life. He had been a leading anti-Eurasian after the invasion of his old home region of Albion. He also had close ties to Pax Britannica, where he was still the envoy of Albion. This proved controversial with many experienced members of the region, many of who still saw both regions as enemies.
