Akaeia entered a period of crisis in October 1727. Tensions between the Houses and the Imperial Government, coupled with a growing financial burden and a weak Crown, led to the First Civil War with the revolt of Imperial forces under Tauen Skenosix in the province of Eskinanthus. Coupled with nationalist movements there, the rebellion soon gained strength, spreading across Akaeia quickly. Fighting between loyalists and rebels occured in almost every city in the south. This forced the relocation of the government to Xenar, the emergency HQ of the Akaeian state.

At this moment, Sicinian forces launched the infamous suprise attack on Erekthenos harbor that began the [[Three Day's War]]. Faced with rebellion in the provinces and war on the expansive eastern front, the Akaeian government began to crumble. In the southeast, Imperial forces withdrew before Siciniam pulling back over the mountains in a desperate attempt to both counter the revolutionaries and keep the Sicinians out of the Akaeian hertland. Although a similar tactic worked in the [[Panselle War]], there were no troops with which to reinforce the southern army, and the land fell to Sicinia without severe fighting. In the north, at Akaseia, Imperial troops under Dauvan Atreiadeias held the city despite fierce fighting, while the northern armies were scraped bare with the mobilization of any and all fighting men to repel the assault.

Meanwhile, fighting between various groups in support of Ioshuad Iardaneios II or Tauen Skenosix occurred in Noviron, Vara, Kozoronden, Marandrosi, Elotanates, Ataleia, Titanos, Hephaesteion, and Hypereion. These actions were predominantly carried out by small groups of armed locals and auxiliary units of the armies. 

In the south, Akaeia had only to fight a stalemate to stop the Sicinians at the mountains, but the large gap in the northern mountains left the Akaeian cities there open to assault and therefore a much more massive effort was necessary to check the Sicinian advance. The number of men fielded by Akaeia in the north was 4 times the number in the south, whereas Sicinian forces were generally consistent. The southern fleet, despite being weaker than the Sicinian, managed to keep the Sicinian marines from landing anywhere besides Elotanates, and thus protected the vital city of Taeana from Sicinian conquest. Nevertheless it was clear that the Akaeians had been crushed over all, and peace was declared on the third day.

Following the conclusion of the war, the situation in Akaeia was agitated by the flight of a half million Akaeians from the recently lost land into the Akaeian heartland, overwhelming the government and adding an immense burden to the already large number of issues.
