The first flag of Kedalfax was made during the revolution in 1845. The flag has had x forms since then, with the latest being the Star and Shield seen above.

Historic Flags

1845-1860

The original flag was red and blue, with a white stripe across the diagonal, as seen above. The two colors represented the two islands, united by the white line.

1860-1894

The two shield design was approved on February 1, 1860. It uses the same colors as the current flag, and has two shields to represent the two islands.

Current Star and Shield

The current Star and Shield design was approved in 1894, at the start of the commonwealth. The flag is incorporated in the flags of the commonwealth nations.

The design includes a five-pointed star in a red-orange color. The star is set in the middle of a light blue shield, which is in the center of a green background.
