The Sultanate of The Great al-Andalus is a tiny, devout nation, remarkable for its strong anti-business politics. Its hard-nosed, intelligent population of 6 million love a good election, and the government gives them plenty of them. Universities tend to be full of students debating the merits of various civil and political rights, while businesses are tightly regulated and the wealthy viewed with suspicion.

The government -- a sprawling, bureaucracy-choked, corrupt morass -- juggles the competing demands of Religion & Spirituality, Law & Order, and Healthcare. The average income tax rate is 37%, but much higher for the wealthy. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Uranium Mining.

Voting is voluntary and the alarmingly racist TV show 'Bigtopians Say the Darndest Things' is a hit. Crime is relatively low, thanks to a well-funded police force. The Great al-Andalus's national animal is the Iberian Wolf, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Euro.

The Great al-Andalus is ranked 5,902nd in the world for Most Politically Free Nations.
