Government Leader: Emperor Phillip I

Government: Not much is known about Kurtang. He is mysterious. Keeps himself to himself. We do know that he lead the underground religion, "The Watchers" for over two decades and has now, suprisingly, rose to power after the death of The Emperor.

Society Races/ethnicities: The population is 72% English, with the rest of the population being, generally, either Chinese or Tibetan. The reason for this is that, long before The Iron Fish actually came to be it was ruled by the British Empire. All citizens are considered Iron Fishy by nationality.

Religions: The only religion allowed by law in The Iron Fish is Watcherism, lead by The Watchers. The ruler of the Iron Fish is also the Supreme Watcher.

Language policy: The nation's official language is English, but there is a small section of people who use Chinese.

Education: The Supreme Watcher provides free education for all up to the age of 12. After which parents must pay C$12,000 (twelve-thousand-credits) a year to keep them in school. For those who pay their children will generally leave school at age 17. They must then pay differing fees to continue their education in the various colleges and Universities dotted around the country.

Economy The Iron Fish’s economy is currently the strongest it’s been in twenty-five years. This is because business have increasingly been opening up and moving to The Iron Fish after the government started giving financial incentives for those who did.

History The Iron Fish was under the rule of the British Empire for years before the people overthrew the British government appointed there. The British, who were at the time engulfed in financial difficulties, decided not to take The Iron Fish back. They believed that, without government, it would simply die.

But the people did well. They appointed a four man “Senate,” which would rule the land. This worked well for over 15 years until one of the members of The Senate, Issac Foster, brutally murdered the other three and took overall power becoming the first Emperor of the Iron Fish. For the record, he Emperor Matthias II’s great, great, great, great Grandfather.

The people were completely oppressed for over 100 years before Emperor Benson passed away and the Imperial throne was passed onto his son, Matthias I. Matthias I was a peaceful, loving man who for the first time in history (aside from the 15 year gap when The Senate was in charge) gave the people freedom. This went on for 75 years until he died at the age of 95 and passed the throne onto previous Emperor Matthias II.

He was assaisinated a short time into his reign, and the Supreme Watcher Kurtang rose to power after The Emperor's Undersecretary made one last decision to name Kurtang as leader.

Only time will tell where the Iron Fish is heading. They have recently completed construction of Frontier, an earth orbit space station, although that is having teething problems. They have also purchased four space vessels far advanced to their own developed ones.
