The Journey Time is the name for what modern historians have agreed is the exodus of the first people and the arrival in present day Sicinia Salis in 979 C.E., when they first appear in Akaeian records. There is no written history of the roughly 200 years of migration north of the tribes collectively called the Sicinii, and the conclusion made of that story is based entirely on oral accounts, pictograms, and extensive archaeological excavations.

What is known is that the Sicinii were at first farmers and warriors in the area of Borrados that is present-day Gion and Zehpreet. No one knows for sure how long they had lived in the region, only that it had been at least several millenia. However, in the 700s C.E. western expansion by Borraid communities began to encroach on Sicinii lands. The next thirty years saw the Sicinii trying in vain to hold onto their lands, but still pressure icnreased. Finally, the ten tribes of the Sicinii called council to discuss their position. Eight chose to leave and seek their fortune elsewhere, while the final two chose to remain. The descendants of these two tribes are the last remnants of the Sicinii people in Borrados.

Over a period of perhaps 150 years the eight remaining tribes of the Sicinii wandered, forced by pressure to the east and west to head north, until they stumbled into the northern kingdom of Acrian. The main settlements of Acrian were towards the north, so it was not until the Sicinii were deep within their lands did the Acrianites notice something amiss. It was at this point that, in a time of great conflict and danger, the tribal council was replaced by a single leader who was master even to the other chiefs: the High King.
