The government of The Nile River Valley is spelled out in the region's [http://andy120.ath.cx/nilerivervalley/charter.pdf Charter].  The Charter divides the government into 3 seperate branches.  The Executive, Senate, and Judical branches. The Executive leader in the region is the Prime Minister who is elected every five months.  He/She is the leader of the region and participates in many other parts of the government as well.  The defense officer and lawyer general are also included in this branch of government. In the Senate there is one senator for ever three nations in the region.  All nations are divided into districts and each three nation district elects a senator every month.  The senator represents his/her own district in the twice a month Senate meetings.  The judicial branch consists of the courts.  There is one court for every twenty nations in the region.  Each court has one judge to rule on punishments for law breakers.  It also can rule if a passed law is legal according to the Charter. There are two types of laws in this region.  Sublaws are minor rules passed by 2/3 of the Senate.  Major rules are considered "laws" and must be voted on by the nations in the region.

  • This region was founded in March, 2005 by Ator People.
  • On March 20, 2005 it was invaded by nations from Aeria, but was quickly recovered by its native government.
  • On May 7, 2005, The Nile River Valley was accepted as a member into the Alliance Defense Network.
  • On June 22, 2005, Ator People ended his term as Prime Minister (After a resignation earlier in the month) and Chocolatl became Prime Minister after a regional vote.
  • In late August, Prime Minister Chocolatl announced a proposal to dissolve the government (which was declining in activity) and declare the Charter null and void.
  • By August 26th 3 nations had voted to dissolve the regional government. Because this was in accordance with the Charter, the government and Charter have now been dissolved.
