History of The One Hundreth Reich
In the 1960s, in an attempt to infiltrate Soviet territory and gain intelligence on a new type of weapon being built, the United States decided to perform a HALO jump, sending one man to parachute from a plane into Soviet territory. The man they got to do this was codenamed Snake. On his way to the recovery point, Snake was confronted by his mentor, known as The Boss. She was defecting to the Soviet Union. They engaged in hand to hand combat and upon defeating The Boss, Snake then became Big Boss. After that, Big Boss disappeared, not to resurface until the 1980s. In 1982 a rebellion grew in South Africa. The man leading the rebellion was no other than Big Boss. In 1987 the civil war was over, and a new nation formed. This nation was called "Outer Heaven". In 1991, Big Boss was killed doing mercenary work for the U.S. in Desert Storm. His long time friend known only by his rank of Colonel, assumed control of Outer Heaven, but renamed it The One Hundreth Reich. Being of high rank and having friends in high places, the Colonel pulled some strings and had the U.S. help modernize The One Hundreth Reich. The U.S. sent over scientists, teachers, doctors, engineers, and other skilled workers and taught the people of The One Hundreth Reich to build roads, buildings, ships, cars, war machines and other stuff, making The One Hundreth Reich the little sister of the United States of America.
Political Orchestration
The One Hundreth Reich has a more democratic government than any other nation in the world. There are three parts to the government: The President- The first president of The One Hundreth Reich is the Colonel, being unanimously selected by the nation. He can only serve two terms, four years each, and is elected by the people, but unlike the U.S. president, he has virtually unlimited power. The Presidential Advisors-The Presidential advisors are also elected by the people. There are five of them, and they make sure that the President doesn't do anything too crazy that would bring the entire One Hundreth Reich down, or upset the populace. The People-The people of The One Hundreth Reich have say in all political affairs. Scince The One Hundreth Reich uses the Neutrality Proclemation, thes affairs are mainly domestic. They can call referanda if two-thirds of the population doesn't agree with the law and overrule any desicsion made by the President or the Advisors.
The Military
The One Hundreth Reich was born from the blood of revolutionaries. It has had a very violent birth. Most of the people in The One Hundreth Reich are soldiers. In 1988, an entire corps of the Soviet army defected to Outer Heaven, and stayed there. Thats three armored divisions numbering 60,000 men. During Desert Storm, four-fifths of Saddam's Republican Guard and half of the Iraqi army numbering 600,000 men. Along with educated men and other skilled workers, the U.S. also brought over 750,000 regular infantry soldiers, four more armored divisions, and detatchments from the Marine Corps, the 101st Airborne, the airforce, and the navy.
The Army and the Marines use the standard issue M1A16 assault rifle with an M79 grenade launcher attachment.It is an extremely efficient weapon that has amazing stopping power from the rifle and amazing fire power from the grenade launcher. Each soldier both in the Army and Marines goes through intense survival training. A single soldier is capable of surving in the jungle with nothing more than a combat knife.
The Pathfinders are made up of the best of the best from both the Army and the Marines. A Pathfinder is a higly trained sniper that is capable of working by himself, with no need for a spotter. He can sit an wait for hours, days, even weeks without moving a muscle, waiting for his target to appear. The Pathfinders use .308 bolt action rifle, and are capable of picking off a target at over 1,000 yards.
The Tank Corps is comprised of tanks from the Soviet Union and the United States. The tank of choice is the M1A1 Abrams main battle tank, although Russian T-72s and T-62s are still in use. The mechanized infantry detatchments use both the M2 Bradley assault vehicle and the Russian made BMP infantry fighting vehicles. The One Hundreth Reich also uses M12 mobile artillery and MLRS type one and type two rockets.
The detatchment from the 101st trained The One Hundreth Reich's own HALO Division. Named after the infamous HALO jump by Big Boss in the 60s, the HALO jumpers are comprised into 9 man squads, a 6 man rifle element armed with the M1A16 assault rifles, a 2 SAW gunners, and the commanding officer armed with an MP5. The chopper detactment of the HALO division uses the Apache AH-64D Longbow, Cobra, and Comanche attack helicopters and the Blackhawk helicopter for supplies and troop movement.
The One Hundreth Reich's airforce is comprised of A-10 Warthogs, a fleet of F/A 22 Raptors, B-52 heavy bombers, B-117E Nighthawk fighter/bombers, B2 Flying Wing bombers, and B1 Supersonic Arura bombers. And because The One Hundreth Reich doesn't have a satellite system, it uses the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird spy plane.
The navy is comprised mainly of submarines. There are 50 attack subs, and 25 nuclear missle subs. There is a fleet of 40 destroyers and 20 aircraft carriers.
The Metal Gear Project
Metal Gear is a top secret project that the One Hundreth Reich has been working on. Metal Gear Rex, the codename for the Metal Gear project, is now complete and has proceeded to mass production. Rex comes standered with 2 vuclan cannons, 2 rocket pods, 1 laser, a TMD missle module, and a rail gun. The railgun uses magnets to fire projectiles at extremely high velocities. It was designed to fire a new type of nuclear warhead. This nuclear warhead is shot out of the railgun like a projectile, that way it doesn't burn any propellant and isn't considered a missle. It's a stealth weapon, totally impossible to intercept. It's a surface piercing tactical warhead for taking out hardened underground bunkers. Rex is the ultimate weapon, and is soon to be accompanied by Metal Gear Ray. The Ray prototype is scheduled to be completed by March 2007 and then proceed to mass production.
The Space Corps
The ORSC(One Hundreth Reich Space Corps) is still under construction. There is a small fleet of 15 Crusader class battle cruisers and 5 Paladin capital ships. Each Crusader carries 50 ME-109 space fighters, and each Paladin can carry up to 3 Crusaders plus a fleet of 150 ME-109 space fighters. By March the One Hundreth Reich expects to have 20 Paladin capital ships and 60 Crusader battle cruisers with supporting ME-109 fighters.
Resources
The One Hundreth Reich is abundant in oil(making it a member of OPEC), coal, iron, gold, natural gas, iron, titanium, gold, silver, aluminum, nickle, and other various metals.
School System
The One Hundreth Reich's school system consists of 8 years of primary school(elementary and middle schools) and 4 years of secondary(high) school. After that there are a few colleges that were set up such as Boss University, Colonel's College of Medicine, and others.
Transportation
The main source of transportaion is by car, although the roads aren't that well developed yet. Most are still dirt, even though there are major highways 6 lanes across linking all major cities.
Geography
The One Hundreth Reich is on the Atlantic coast of Africa. It has over 5,000 miles of coastline, which is dotted with naval bases and a few civillian ports, with only about 600 miles of public beaches. There are mountains along the northern, southern, and eastern borders, with dense forest in the interior of The One Hundreth Reich.
Law and Order
Unlike the U.S., the laws in The One Hundreth Reich protect the victims and officers, not the criminals. Officers have the right to shoot first if threatened, and use aggressive force to apprehend criminals. This strikes fear into anyone who thinks of commiting crime. The One Hundreth Reich also has the death penalty. The death penalty is death by firing squad, and there is no bull about cruel and inhumane punishment. Court trials go super quick. The theory is either you did it or you didn't. If 3 or more people saw you do what you did, you go straight to prison. In the case of the death penalty, there's no sitting on death row for weeks, months, or years. You have 2 days to get your shit together, then you get the firing squad. But scince the majority of the populace has strict military disipline, crime is low if there's any at all.
