The Races Across the Lands is a book published by Questarian writer Hideki Hashimoto. It has been criticised in the international community for racist undertones and supposedly promoting racial superiority.

The Races Across the Lands And Their Place In History

Overview

The book was published on the eve of war with NATO and Gholgoth and widely spread around the world and especially Questers. The book does not, as some would expect, portray Questers enemies on the bottom and its allies on the top; rather, it portrays the idea that some of Questers' enemies are "noble races." However, some, like Allaneans and Kahanistanis, are on the bottom. It goes so far to identify Kahanistanis as "degrading...inhuman and indeed subhuman creatures... akin to rats". It also says the "natural place of the Kahanistani... much like his Londinian counterpart, is to be conquered, dominated, and controlled by those stronger than him. While I myself value Liberty, I do not think that these insipid creatures do, and to enslave them would be no great moral loss..."

The list has been criticised by some biologists because they do not agree that some of the people reflected in the nations are a 'race' themselves, or perhaps that several nations 'share' races, such as Anglo Saxon. Nevertheless the book has a critical following in Questers and is growing in Doomingsland.

The book also gives some of the 'races' animals that represent them.

The list, in order, is as follows:

  • Questarians (The Tiger)
  • Praetonians (The Lion)
  • Doomanis (The Eagle)
  • Scandavians (The Hawk)
  • Midlonians (The Dove)
  • Freeks (The Bear)
  • Tyrandisans (The Crane)

It should be noted that all the above are claimed to be "roughly equal... with some notable differences, but generally... lacking any distinct difference in their superiority"

Below these come the "middle races" - of some who are allied to Questers. Some races are praised, some are not. According to Hashimoto, the protectorates of Questers are "Of course, notably and vastly more distinct in their national achievements and qualities..." while some are claimed to be more mediocre.

Of interest are the "lower races", with the lowest at the bottom:

  • Vizionarians (The Mule)
  • Londinians (The Pig)
  • Allaneans (The Mosquito)
  • Kahanistanis (The Rat)

Hashimoto claims Allaneans are a "an offending, disgusting and morally vile race... their very existence is contrary to the idea human beings can be decent, upstanding people by birth... they are as disgusting in mind as they are in body and physically more inept than the negro, for their victories come in numbers and not in skill or some other attribute to their advantage..."

He goes on to say "That if the Doomani were to wipe out every single last Allanean and destroy their foul culture... it would not be a loss to the world, for I do not believe for a moment the Allanean; of any colour, dark or light or yellow, is worth keeping alive for the peril they, in their numbers, pose to civilised people and thought..."

He describes them by calling them the Mosquito, because "The mosquito is an utterly worthless insect incapable of anything but irritance and causing damage... like the Allanean it lacks subtletly or stealth and prefers to avoid an open fight for it is cowardly and attacks only when it sees no risk in doing so, yet it is incapable of outright killing a man and lacks tact..."

Nations of Note

Here are some particular extracts decribing certain races or nations.

Iraqstan

"Of particular interest and note are the Iraqstanis... yet, for their racial purity and their strength of character and nation, with regards to their military power, their notable abuses of their peoples and their Liberties define them their moral character... one which I, while I admire their strength, would not make me proud to call myself an Iraqstani..."
