Following Operation Reunion in which Federal Trodenhiem reclaimed the territory take by the Splinter state Imperial Trodenhiem, Monte Guerro embarked on a massive process that would lead up to The Second Trodoneo-Cadian War. His government instigated a new education system and started a Total War economy that made the United Republic ever more powerful and capable.

Though his nation and military were considerably smaller than his foe's it structure and training was far superior. This coupled with North Cadia's unwavering trust in him to be a good ally, enabled Federal Trodenhiem to embark on a Blitzkrieg of massive proportions.

Buildup to the War

Following the defeat of Trodenhiem to North Cadia in The First Trodoneo-Cadian War, many Trodonian citizens were left disheartened and illcontent with the result, North Cadia annexed most of their lands and Conrad Kruschev split the Empire greedily bettween his two Empires, leaving only a small area from which the remaining free Trodonian people could live.

Even Monte Guerro an unrivalled man of peace, felt vengeance was needed. So a long period of careful planning and building took place. Monte planned every last detail of his nation and government, for his war. This is now clear, he radically changed the education and civil service structures, for the better, and for the war. Children were training in Physical exercises, close combat, martial arts and weapons skills, as well as tactic, logistical and political thinking. And so a generation of smarter and superior people was born. With this education in mind the economy boomed, now transforming into a total war economy, building tanks and gun and other military necessities.

Meanwhile strategists and tacticians were in utmost secret planning the war, to the minutest detail, everything was carefully planned like clockwork.

The War

The Opening Stages

27th March Operation Reunion takes place.

31st March Federal Trodenhiem's full military strength was mobilised, it took amazing organisation, but with the near life long training and education readying the Trodonian forces for this, the mobilisation took place with ease. 90 million troops were now mobilised and ready supply routes organised and weapons ready, the mobilisation was done under the guise of military excercises on a grand scale and it worked.

Federal troops marched over the border into Romania. Citizens watched aghast, as armies marched past and occupied cities and towns. Their first target would be a military barracks outside the nearby city of Arad. Large numbers of artillary were brought forwards and the bombardment began. The base defences were hit as masses of artillary pounded it, and aircraft flew overhead strafing Cadian positions.

The Onslaught

April 1st - April 8th The advance was swift, and decisive. It cut straight into North Cadian holdings. With several cities occupied and much of the south of the country under the boot of Federal forces, a blitzkreig method was adopted. North Cadia's comparatively rigid military was unable to respond in time, as they wait for orders from a confused system of commanders. Many officers knew not whether to contact the Defence Ministry, the Colonial Office, The Governor or Kruschev himself, and it was soon too late.

With Federal Forces swinging around large bases and ttacking from the rear before they were defencable, masses of soldiers were captured, many more regretably killed in their futile attempts to retaliiate.

Finally full and organised reports got through to the North Cadian government that a massive force from Federal Trodenhiem had crossed the border and occupied much of Romania. The response was a general retreat order, but it was too late, already the overstretched occupational forces and local colonial militia were breaking, their numbers depleted and they now were fleeing north, leaving vast swaths of Romania undefended.

The Federal response was swift, the force advanced to the point of overstretching their bounds, but the gamble paid off, and Romania was siezed without a single Federal soldier lost.

With Romania secured in one week the Federal forces grew in moral, feeling themselves invincible. But the Officers and Commanders were careful not to let their forces become complacent, and training continued, as well as a swiftly ordered advance into Moldova.

10,000 troops were moved forwards, with air and artillary support. The small North Cadian garrison had already been shaken by the loss of Romania, and they capitulated as soon as they saw the bulk of the Federal force. Moldova was now captured too.

North Cadian forces had been retreating or routing for over a week now, since the first Federal advance, they simply weren't ready for defence. Only now had a formal declaration of war been made, as such North Cadia troops and officers were confused, they didn't know what to do. But the swift actions of Conrad Kruschev and his defence ministry meant that the bulk of the remaining forces in East Trodenhiem stopped in their tracks.

Though supply lines were faulted, owing to the haste with which they were drawn up, they were enough to support what was left of the Romanian and Moldovan occupational forces, however they would need to be replanned and defended, as they were so frail that a simple raid by Federal Aircraft would result in their destruction.

Meanwhile in North Cadia the army was mobilised ready to defend the homeland, in case the Federal forces became reckless and tried to enter North Cadia itself. A few were drawn off to defend Belarus and Former Prussia, where they hoped to bottle neck the Federal forces.

With the majority of the North Cadian forces retreating to Belarus to hold out there yet more sweeping advances were made. Federal Forces swiftly secured the now relatively undefended Ukraine with ease, as they destroyed the supply lines, forcing the North Cadian forces to either retreat or capitulate.

This worked excellently and masses of troops surrendered and were set to work on construction within the new Federal borders, as was their policy.

The attempt to bottleneck Federal forces was failing, the Ukraine had fallen too quickly and preparations had not yet been made for the full defence of Belarus, and it was now unlikely that they ever would as aircraft bombed and strafed supply lines, bunkers and other defencive positions.

Their supplies were dwindling as were their numbers under the weight of constant bombardment. Attempting any form of aerial response was made impossible by constant fighter presence on an unprecidented scale.

It was then that the leader of the North Cadian forces, General Karl Yvn, sent a message to Conrad Kruschev requesting permission to surrender. This message was recieved badly, however none could ignore the massive economic impact, and already far too much money had been lost and yet more was draining away from the Empire's coffers. Conrad was forced to accept the request and immediately cut the supply lines and closed the borders. The majority of the North Cadian military now stood at the border only letting past retreating North Cadian forces.

With the arrival of this message Federal forces and officials moved forwards and secured the remaining North Cadia holdings in the Former Empire. Many former Trodonian soldiers welcomed the Federal forces, however, much to their dismay they were not inducted into the army, but rather treated as traitors. For traitors they were, first unquestioningly oppressing the Trodonian people under the corrupt Emperor Silas, and then joining North Cadian soldiers in occupying their own homeland and ensure North Cadian rule.

9th April As was the Federal policy the masses of now surrendered and captured soldiers were set to work repairing and rebuilding infrastructure.

Meanwhile the political and economic reprecussions of this shoke the very foundations of North Cadia. Many major trade routes between North Cadia and the Kruschevan Empire had been severed and a massive source of wealth for the Empire was now lost. Indeed the government was so short on money that it was near bankrupcey.

North Cadia as planned was knocked out of the war in one swift blow. As predicted the Empire's economy relied now too heavily of their Trodonian holdings for their wealth and their military action had not come cheap. Masses of equipment was abandoned, destroyed or damaged and would have to be replaced if North Cadia were to continue the fight, but they now lacked the money to do it, and unless they compromised their security they could not make any attacks on Federal Trodonian forces.

This would pave the way for The First Trodoneo-Kruschevan War, that would ultimately decide the fate of North Cadia, Federal Trodenhiem and Conrad Kruschev's power and honour within the region.
