The Region

The Seventh Column is a loose collection of three major landmasses, various islands, and seven (or five, depending on your point of view) oceans. It's a large area which is divided into many smaller countries.

Oceans

  • Mare Tranquilos
    • Mare Tranquilos is the northernmost ocean of The Seventh Column. It is an icy ocean, and it's not uncommon to find wrecked boats along the sea floor due to rampaging ice floes.

  • Mare Fortuna
    • In the early days of The Seventh Column, the legendary Pimps made this ocean their playground. They would often raid the merchant ships travelling between Durandal and Tycho.
  • Mare Incendium
    • So named because of the way the sunset reflects off the crystal clear water. Some legends say the Phoenix and the Dragon find their origins in this sea. It may be coincidence that there are more phoenix and dragons in this area as compared to any other, but no one is entirely sure.

  • Immersea
    • This is an almost entirely calm muddy sea which is nearly enclosed by land. Sailing tends to be safer on this sea most of the time due to the placid waters and slightly higher salt content (which contributes to buoyancy)but there can be eddies and whirlpool from time to time because of the soft bottom of Immersea. These are probably the most dangerous things a sailor can witness, barring a return of the Pimps.
  • Mare Imbrium
    • The natural geography on either side of this sea lends itself to producing lots of precipitation.

  • Mare Infinitum
    • This ocean extends far and beyond what anyone really knows, the next region may lay beyond! Myths of strange sea creatures are common from those who return...
  • Mare Septum
    • The Seventh Sea traveled by man, and thusly named.

Land Masses

  • Durandal
    • This long landmass runs about 4000 miles from east to west. It tends to be colder in the northernmost climes, but is generally temperate.
  • Tycho
    • The largest landmass in The Seventh Column is one of the most convoluted. Mountains, grasslands, heavy forests, jungle, savannah, and even desert make Tycho an explorers paradise.
  • Leela
    • This is the smallest landmass in The Seventh Column, but not by much. It consists mainly of savannah, jungle and desert.

  • Other
    • There are many other islands and archipelagos that dot the oceans of The Seventh Column.
