The Most Serene Republic of The Stoic is a small, safe nation, renowned for its devotion to social welfare. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 9 million love a good election, and the government gives them plenty of them. Universities tend to be full of students debating the merits of various civil and political rights, while businesses are tightly regulated and the wealthy viewed with suspicion.
The enormous, socially-minded government concentrates mainly on Social Welfare, although Education and Healthcare are secondary priorities. The average income tax rate is 35%, but much higher for the wealthy. A large private sector is led by the Woodchip Exports industry, followed by Information Technology and Furniture Restoration.
