The following is a timeline of Oglethorpian football, including formative and poignant events over the years.

X900s

  • X900 - Oglethorpia is to take place in its first World Cup -- hastily organized is the successor to the NFA, the Oglethorpian Association of Football. The national squad is dubbed the Midshipmen.
  • X900 - Clifton Miffton is selected president of the new OAF.
  • X900 - The Oglethorpian Midshipmen participate in World Cup 4 hosted by Brazillico.
  • X904 - The OAF expands the Bureaucratic States 1st Division to 12 teams and institutes the 1st Division Cup.
  • X904 - The now unnamed Oglethorpian national squad participates in World Cup 5 hosted by Tanah Burung.
  • X908 - The Oglethorpian national squad participates in World Cup 6 hosted by Kingsford.
  • X912 - The Oglethorpian national squad participates in World Cup 7 hosted by Audioslavia and Lemmitania.
  • X916 - Oglethorpia both co-hosts and participates in World Cup 8, hosted by Oglethorpia and Bedistan.
  • X917 - Longtime OAF President Clifton Miffton resigns. Marvin Thomas is elected to the vacated position.
  • X919 - By OAF decree, the Oglethorpian national squad again assumes a nickname -- the Superteam.

  • X932 - The Oglethorpian Wonderteam participates in World Cup 12 hosted by Kaze Progressa and Lemmitania.
  • X936 - The Oglethorpian Wonderteam participates in World Cup 13 hosted by Rejistania and Cockbill Street.
  • X939 - Following World Cup 13, in that team's recognition, the Wonderteam moniker is retired.
  • X938 - OAF President Marvin Thomas steps down. Mel Green is elected to President of the OAF.
  • X939 - In preparation for an Oglethorpia-Kingsford bid, the Oglethorpian Association of Football becomes the Bureaucratic States Football Association.

  • X952 - The Oglethorpian national squad participates in World Cup 17 hosted by Kaze Progressa and Vilita.
  • X952 - During World Cup 17, the Oglethorpian squad is officially recognized as the Mediocrity-Languishers.
  • X953 - The Oglethorpian Mediocrity-Languishers are assumed to not be participating in World Cup 18; domestic play stops.
  • X953 - The BSFA is dissolved -- domestic play has no forseeable future.
  • X956 - Oglethorpia misses World Cup 18.

  • X972 - The Oglethorpian Association of Football is reorganized, and the Bureaucratic States 1st Division assumes its original state; the first 1st Division Championship is held in nearly two decades.
  • X972 - Joe Staplin of Stanigramistan is named new OAF president.
  • X972 - The Oglethorpian national squad participates in World Cup 22 hosted by Liverpool England and South Osettia, and the Junior Ostriches in Under 21 World Cup 16.
  • X972 - In recognition of the regression of Oglethorpian football and the failure to qualify, the team is dubbed the Ostriches, characterizing their ability to look good but never get anywhere (noting the flightlessness of the ostrich). The team plays in the Cup of Harmony XIV and does nothing.
  • X976 - The Oglethorpian national squad participates in World Cup 23 hosted by Rejistania and Eauz, and the Junior Ostriches in Under 21 World Cup 17.
  • X976 - The Ostriches recieve an invite to play in the Cup of Harmony XV; bureaucracy, idiocy and incompetence lead to Oglethorpia missing the event.

X980s

  • X980 - The Oglethorpian national squad participates in World Cup 24 hosted by Krytenia and Druida, and the Junior Ostriches in Under 21 World Cup 18.
  • X981 - In recognition of the Ostriches' qualification for World Cup 24, the Oglethorpian legislative branch held a vote on whether or not to retain the 'Ostriches' moniker. An overwhelming majority in bouth the House of Homosapiens and the House of Human Beings voted to keep the namesake of the national side, feeling it safe whatever the outcome of the upcoming World Cup.
  • X984 - The Oglethorpian national squad participates in World Cup 25 hosted Kaze Progressa and Audioslavia, and the Junior Ostriches in Under 21 World Cup 19.
