The Democratic Republic of Tingst, or the DRT, is a small island nation located in the east pacific. Due to open, liberal and rather welcoming immigration policies the nations population has increased rapidly for the last years and is currently estimated to be around 8 million, a majority of which live in the capital of Tingst City, which in turn, included the Greater Tingst City Area, makes up about 60% of the nations surface. The nation is made up of three major provinces and 15 smaller counties. The Tingst General Assembly governs the nation on a federal level, but by tradition uses their legeslative powers only in restricted areas.
