October 9, 2006: The Reformation

On this date, Torino was abandoned by the former king, New Canada City and handed into NARDDO administration.

October 23, 2006: The Revival

Kinonita accepted the position of President and Torino's fortunes began to change for the better.

October 27: Formation of Government

The first government was finished on this date with Euphobes assuming the role of Recruitment Minister and My Superstardom taking on the role of Foreign Minister.

The senate currently consists of 11 Senators and a Speaker of the Senate. This body has much of the power in Torino as it makes all of the laws and is instrumental in the runing of the region. The Senators are:

The Ministries and their Roles

Minister of Internal Affairs This ministry houses the internal security services for Torino and various sources of information.

Minister of Foreign Affairs All contact and negotiations with the outside world goes through this ministry. Alliances, embassies and treaties are made by the Minister of foreign affairs.

Department of Defence This ministry is the centre of Torino's army, where the battle plans are made, recruits are trained, orders given and is the contact between the armed forces of Torino and the rest of the population.

Minister of Culture Cultural events fall under the jurdisiction of this ministry; which promotes Torino's culture and the culture of its resident nations.

Minister of Immigration/Recruitment This ministry specialises in recruiting new nations to Torino, and runs basic level security checks on new arrivals as well as attempts to involve new nations in the political system.

Constitutional Justice - Euphobes

This position involves assessing the legality of proposals submitted to the Senate legislation queue, presiding over cases where the Torino Constitution plays a major role and making rulings on the legality of evidence.

Criminal Justice - Vacant

The Torino Criminal Justice judges cases where a breach of the law is alleged to have been committed by a nation and the case is not fit for the Constiutional court to hear. Serious cases or those involving a high-ranked official are to be heard by the Chief Justices instead.

Chief Justices - OneBZay, Kinonita, Contradictory Views

These are the most powerful and important justices in the region and form the Court of Appeal. Any case that is of concern to the region, for example treason charges, is to be presided over by a Chief Justice. The Chief Justices break any ties in the Senate votes and are able to veto laws passed by the Senate if they are unconstitutional or otherwise deemed to be "inappropriate".

1. The Region V Fuzzlewents

Charge: treason

Verdict: not guilty

Torino's President at the time, Omnia Americana, indicted Fuzzlewents with treason under the (old) Constitution of Torino on November 21. The infamous invasion of Germania by the Non Aligned States Army, of which Fuzzlewents was a part of, Omnia Americana alleged to have damaged Torino's world standing and compromised its security. Controversially, the President allowed the Vice-President and UN delegate; Euphobes, to judge the trial.

The Torino Progressive Party

The TPP was set up in response to the Conservative Party being the only party in Torino at that time. It has its roots in the NTP (New Torino Party) and the ASP (Aramatherium Supremacy Party). These two parties were conceived around the same time and realised the need for unity.

After some behind the scenes meetings and discussions the TPP was born.

Party Structure

Party Leader - Victoakley

As Party Leader, Victoakley controls the recruitment, aided by Deputy Leader. He is responsible for Senior member taskings and is the official point of contact with any opposition parties.

Political Leader - Aramatherius

As political Leader, Aramatherius is responsible for controlling political arguments with the opposition, he submits proposals to the Senate when finalised by the TPP. He also stands for Presidential Elections and decides on the party political heading.

Deputy Leader - Moosewood Maple

As Deputy Leader, Moosewood Maple aids with recruiting. He also stands in as leader (either political or party) when a continued absence has been declared by the holder of that position.

These three positions also act as the Executive Committee of the TPP. Any major changes or decisions that need to be made, when there isn't time to put together a full party vote, will be made by the Executive Committee.

Chief Whip - Ingelby

As Chief Whip, Ingelby ensures that the rank and file (RaF) members are active.He is also responsible for the RaF members voting how and when required.This position is answerable to the Executive Committee only.
