The Treaty of Caxilan, signed in Caxilan, in the present-day Jevian State of Ven, is considered one of the most influential documents in the history of Jey.

Background

The history behind the creation of the Treaty of Caxilan started with a sweeping nationalistic movement created by Drew Domz upon becoming president of the former Republic of Krazorn. His urgance for the future countries of the Domz Empire to unite created tension within the states. The states not desiring to conform to the boundaries of the Empire were forced into the Empirical War, won by the Domzians. To resist uprisings, the Treaty of Caxilan was formed by Domz and signed by all 256 nations within the Domz Empire.

Main Points of the Treaty

Though the official text of the treaty are unknown, it has been confirmed by many witnesses that the treaty consisted mainly of the following three points:

  • All who sign this treaty are wholefully bound to the Empire and to Drew Domz as its Emperor
  • Anyone who attempts to withdraw from the agreement of this treaty will receive execution as soon as possible
  • The whole of the armies of all the countries bound by this treaty are completely transferred to the Empirical Army

Effects

As nearly half of the nations bound by the treaty were forced to fight in the Empirical War to try and defend their independence, it was inevitable that the treaty would eventually receive extreme opposition. Many nations joined the alliance, which turned into a political country, The Grenevan Territories, in an attempt to withdraw from the treaty. When the Grenevan and the Empirical army first met, it began the Domz War.
