The military of the Triumvirate of Yut, with a strategic concentration on aerospace superiority. It is the first line of the Triumvirate of Yut's defense and makes up almost the entirety of the Scolopendran and Karmabaijani space militaries, combined with volunteers from across the Triumvirate. It works very closely with the Menelmacari MIDF, the Sunset Defense Force, and the Queendom Armed Conflict Force.

Combined Services Structure

The Combined Services are a relatively decentralized military force relying on a combination of doctrine produced by the War Analysis and New Concepts College, the individual initiatives of each unit commander, and a broad but relatively shallow chain of command under the Commander-in-Chief, Triumvirate of Yut Combined Services (CINCTYCS). The CINCTYCS coordinates the greater actions of the Combined Services, assigning commanders to fleets and fleets to strategic theatres, while smaller-scale strategic and tactical planning is the responsibility of fleet commanders and their subordinates. This force structure epitimizes the tenet of airpower "Centralized Command, Decentralized Execution."

The TYCS are independent from any Triumvirate of Yut member's military; the CINCTYCS reports directly to the Triumvirate's federal leadership, the Council of Yut. The TYCS can coordinate with any member state's military forces and, in coalition operations, has the ability to take command of all Triumvirate forces in the area. This is not often exercised, but it is an option open to Sky Marshals.

Originally, the TYCS operated on the principle of fleets of twenty to fifty ships deployed to various theatres. However, TYCS ship designs allow vessels to operate in far smaller self-sufficient groups than entire fleets and ordering a fleet to deal with a situation a single element could take care of was becoming highly inefficient. The TYCS was growing and thus needed to reorganize to admit this. Instead of fleets, the TYCS is now organized by operational theatre, with each theatre assigned a pool of forces made up of individual elements that could be mixed and matched to meet operational needs.

The active theatres currently employed by the TYCS are Earth Theatre, Mars Theatre, Jupiter Theatre, Saturn Theatre, Galactic Antispinward Colonial Theatre, Galactic Spinward Colonial Theatre, Galactic Coreward Colonial Theatre, and Galactic Rimward Colonial Theatre.

Earth Theatre

Earth Theatre is currently headquartered aboard Valhalla Station and commanded by Sky Marshall Juan Rico. Given the relative size of Earth as a strategic asset and the fact that several key Triumvirate members and enemies call it home, it is assigned the most equipment and resources. It coordinates most closely with the Menelmacari, Dominion and Shogunate militaries. The Treznorian military decidedly lacks a space presence, which is taken into account by Earth Theatre's organization.

Mars Theatre

Mars Theatre currently uses the joint fleetbase on Deimos as its headquarters and is under the command of Sky Marshal Tandra Fani-Kayode. Nearly as well-equipped as the Earth Theatre, it coordinates with Sunsetti, Mangalan, Menelmacari, and Queendom forces.

Jupiter Theatre

Jupiter Theatre uses the mobile headquarters facilities aboard Battleship Vinegaroon and is commanded by Sky Marshal M'sha. Having an average-sized pool for theatre operations, it mostly works with allied Non-Democratic Alliance, Burning Mountain, and ever-present Menelmacari forces.

Saturn Theatre

Saturn Theatre is the major production hub of the TYCS and thus holds all reserve and unassigned forces in it, headquartered at the TYCS building and under the command of Sky Marshal Charles Blair. It is also the technical theatre of Strategic Attack Cruiser components. Given that Saturn is well-protected by the Very Dangerous Array as well as fleets from Cetaganda, Zero-One, Berserker, Karmabaijan, and Khenala, the TYCS has no permanent combat forces short of the VDA and Ring defenses assigned to it because it would simply be a complete replication of duties.

Galactic Antispinward Colonial Theatre

GACT is centered around the adopted Sakkran homeworld of Sslaa, headquartered aboard Supercarrier Sirius, and is under the command of Sky Marshal Raphael Farentino. It works most closely with Sakkran defense forces.

Galactic Spinward Colonial Theatre

GSCT (usually pronounced "gist") is centered around the Cetagandan colony world of Ivrel, headquartered aboard Supercarrier Sun Tzu, and is under the command of Sky Marshal Ignatiev Zolkin. It unsurprisingly works with the excellent Cetagandan spacy.

Galactic Coreward Colonial Theatre

GCCT (pronounced "gackt") is centered around the Sunsetti colony world of Ares, headquartered aboard Supercarrier Chironex, and commanded by Sky Marshall Dieu-Hien Manh Cao. It coordinates most closely with the Sunset Defense Force.

Galactic Rimward Colonial Theatre

GRCT (pronounced "grackt") is headquartered on Triumvirate of Yut colony world of Bright Morning and commanded by Sky Marshal Gregor Pandousco. It has a very high percentage of Scolopendran officers and enlisted due to the Segments' colonial push rimward.

Vision Thirty-Exty-Six Document

The "Vision Thirty-Exty-Six" document is an official doctrine paper developed by the CINCTYCS working with the Council of Yut and several member nation military staffs. It holds that the TYCS will be in its optimal strength when each theatre is built up to the equivalent of having two expeditionary forces and two combat fleets in the old system; this ensures that the TYCS both has sufficient firepower and mobile force to respond to most credible and foreseeable threats. Normal fleet production reached this goal (February 2006 IRL) and now there is some debate, especially in the Federated Segments of Scolopendra, on where excess military production should go.

Guard Fleets

These second-line fleets are assigned to directly patrol and protect individual primary colony worlds. While TYCS main-line fleets are assigned to respond to whatever happens in their regions of space and are considered free to coordinate and share forces as needed, Guard Fleets act as garrisons. As of this writing the planets Si'lat, Bright Morning, Hillary, Sslaa, Ares, Earth, Mars, and Saturn are assigned Guard Fleets.

Auxilliary

The TYCS has a large auxilliary, mostly in the form of colonial defense Sky Marshal-class system defense fortresses, Strategic Attack Groups, and a Merchant Marine. The TYCS Ground Forces Reserve numbers about five million fighting men and acts in a reserve role to forward-deployed units aboard TYCS fleet carriers. The Titan Defense Force of Berserker is an auxilliary of the TYCS, but operated essentially like a seperate military service.
