Tyrellia

Tyrellia is the Capital City of the Nation of Casari. The largest city in the nation, Tyrellia is home to the nation's largest university, airport, seaport, transportation systems and sports teams, along with being the government seat.

History

Tyrellia is one of Casari's first colonies and quickly grew to become the largest due to the city's natural deep-water harbor, making it favorable for trade. It was the first colony to declare itself independant of the Empire and one of the core forces in the original creation of the Confederated Colonies. Since that point, Tyrellia has grown extensively, expanding into the hills surrounding the original colonies.

Geography

Tyrellia was built on a low coastal plain and extends into the hill country surrounding the bay the original colony was founded on. Tyrellia has a temperate climate, suffering from almost chronic rain during rainy seasons while pleasant and sunny during the dry seasons.

Subdivisions

The City of Tyrellia is divided is divided into numbered districts by the city government based on Police Coverage. As well as those, almost every district has a popular name which is used in addition to the number. Many of the police stations and district councilmen refer to themselves by both the popular name and their number.

Transport

Tyrellia has an extremely well developed mass transportation system, ranging from subways throughout the city and extending out into the suburbs and Commuter Rail extending farther out into the suburbs and nearby municipalities. Working in conjunction with the subway system is a well funded bus system used to access places where the Subway is unable to go. Along with extensive cab companies, it is possible for many Tyrellians to live and be fully mobile without owning a car. Those that do, or those visiting the capital, usually either in private parking garages or on the street near their home. They are in the minority, however, as the crowded roads prevent a decent flow of road traffic around the city.

The Ylompics

Tyrellia is also the home city to the Tyrellian Ylompic Games competition, held there in the Casaran year 1496.
