Tyrellia City is one of Casari's most popular domestic soccer teams. Based in the center of the capital city of Tyrellia, the team is well known for the slightly rowdy fans it gathers.

Club History

Formation

Tyrellia City is a byproduct of the movement of Tyrellian International to the Suburban city of Tongren. When the then Tyrellian National Board of Directors sought to reform their fanbase to include more wealthy, upper-class fans by moving the team, they overlooked the massive fanbase in the city they were alienating. The City of Tyrellia, hoping to put the stadium to good use, applied to start and began the Tyrellia City soccer club, then taking part in the Northern League. While reluctant, some of the core National fanbase quickly became loyal followers of the new team, while the rest followed International's move to the suburbs. The casual fans, however, were not brought back by a team playing on the 6th level and hardcore fans were quickly frustrated as the city could not afford to fund the team the way the fans would like. After 2 years, teh city could not take the financial strain of the team and placed it for sale.

Sale

The announcement of placing Tyrellia City up for sale was initially met with shock. The fact that the city in no way wanted to be tied to the team was obvious behind the bland explination that the team was a financial burden. In fact, during the two years the team was more than self-sufficant. It was revealed later that the board of instant-rivals Tyrellian International, seeking to block the success of a team who could take a bite out of his considerable profits, claimed that having a team run by the local government was a conflict of interest and complained to the CSA, who then forced the sale.
Within 72 hours of the original announcement, over 50 bids to purchase the team were recieved, coming from various businessmen and wealthy citizens. The largest bid came from Tyrellian International, who claimed to want to "reunite all the former fans of Tyrellian National behind the best team in the nation," but was simply an attempt to buy out the team. The bid chosen, however, came from the Tyrellia City Fans Association, who had, through digging in their own pockets and recruiting a large number of smaller shops and businesses in the city to donate, had come up with enough for 60% of the sale price, with automotive tycoon Will Easton playing for the other 40%.

Modern History

Success was quick after the sale of the team, as long unbeaten runs and an incredably lucky CSA Cup win in 1952 lead to three consecutive National League titles before the team jumped into the Fourth Division. They promoted to the Third in their first match, and after two years and a Third Division championship, won 3 matches in a row during relegation and promotion to enter the top flight, where they have been ever since, gathering several titles and cup wins while growing in popularity almost to the level of International. City then proceeded to light the professional league from 1493 to 1497, winning the First Division Championship 4 of the 5 years and 2 CSA cups in that same length of time. City then went to the International Association Football League, where they won the inagural season and have remained a mid-table team or above ever since, while continuing to gather cup victories.
