Highlights

  • Day One:
    • Opening Ceremony
  • Day Two:
    • One medal event, the women's cycling road race. Spruitland media reported [3] that pre-race favourites Valerie Platt attacked early, leaving the other favourites behind, but they eventually caught up, with the attack "having taken a lot of energy from the main players". Thus, it came down to Elke Mancuso of Spruitland and Aika Pasada of Chicanada in the final sprint, and Mancuso went away in the final kilometre to win gold.
    • Swimming: Team-wise, Bedistan and Anastasiania impressed in the pool, with seven and five athletes qualifying for the final respectively in the four events that had semi-finals. The largest lead came from Abby Brickley of Milchama, who was over half a second ahead in the 100 m breaststroke semi-final [4].
    • Gymnastics: Andossa Se Mitrin Vega and Milchama failed to qualify for the women's team final, while Ariddia went out on top in the qualifying half a point ahead of the rest of the field. In the individual competition, Kari Elain won the all-around qualifying with four marks above 9.89, while five Ariddian athletes qualified for the final – the most from any nation. Athletes from Kelse won both the uneven bars and the balance beam events.
    • Sailing: Ryan Nortel and Jose Sonero of Kelse won a dash for the line to win the first race of the men's 470, but they only finished fourth in the second race, and Casari's Easley and Sisco lead [5]. In the women's 470, Jane Towse and Eve Seddon won both races by clear margins (42 and 10 seconds), and lead by six points. Aaron Bakboordt of Spruitland finished in the top three in both races of the Men's Finn and leads that event.
    • Team sports: First round of pool play. Rejistania, Spruitland and Milchama all score six goals in the men's football; medal aspirants [6] Casari eke out a 6–5 win over Allanea in baseball [7]; Anastasiania keep Schiavonia to seven goals in the men's handball, scoring 25 themselves; the water polo pool matches sees five teams scoring more than ten goals; and in the Atlantian Oceania battle, Schiavonia take a three-run win over Starblaydia in men's cricket.
  • Day Three
    • Cycling: Starblaydi Juan Svoboda proved that pedalling fast can defeat complex tactics as he won the 242km Men's Road Race by over three minutes.
  • Day Four
    • Volleyball: The Spruitlander Women's Beach Volleyball team delighted male viewers by playing topless.
  • Day Five
    • Controversy in men's 200m Breaststroke: Sven Ejeborg of Anastasiania and Ila Kansu of Rejistania finished within the same hundredth of a second with just some milliseconds between them. Since IRL rules declare that times must be measured only up the the hundredth of a seconds and anything more exact must be discarded, both swimmers were awarded gold while no silver was awarded
