U21 Lions World Cup 15

Drawn into a group with neighbors Bedistan in the early stages, the Lions were looking to live up to their sensational run in the previous U21 World Cup. They advanced out of the group stages with 2 victories and a draw, with one of the victories coming against their northern neigbors.

The 2nd round brought on another neighbor, this time to the east. Cockbill Street, a team favored to win the 2nd round matchup with the Lions, were defeated 4-3 in an intense, and highly entertaining matchup. This advanced the Nedalia Lions to the Quarter-Finals, where they wound up facing none other than their U21 World Cup 14 Final opponents, Starblaydia. The match, like the the Finals of the previous U21 World Cup, was an extremely close affair, so much so that the match ended up going to penalties. Alas, the Starblaydian team prevailed, making it the 2nd straight World Cup in which the Lions were knocked out by the Blades. The Lions ended up being 7th after defeated Chicanada in the 7th-8th place match, and returned home to the cheer of the fans. Even though they failed to advance as far as the Finals, they performed magnificently, and looked forward to the next World Cup with promise and hope.
