The UN Member button

A UN member is any nation that has volunteered to join the United Nations. NationStates players are allowed to have only one UN member, regardless of how many different computers or nations they might have. Any player that is found controlling multiple UN members will have all of their UN members ejected from the United Nations for multiing.

All UN members may do several things that normal nations may not do, they may:

  1. Endorse any other UN member located in the same region as their nation, and
  2. Vote on any UN resolution.

UN members with at least two endorsements from other UN members located in the same region as their nation may also submit proposals to the proposal queue.

The UN member with the highest number of endorsements in a region will become a UN Delegate. UN Delegates have other options available to them that UN members do not have. In small regions, a member can become a Delegate with only one endorsement. Although Delegates can approve proposed resolutions, if they only have one endorsement they may not submit proposals. In practice, the delegates from smaller regions actually wield considerable influence as they still have a large say in what proposals eventually reach the UN floor.
