The Community of United Anacreon is a country located in the Southwestern part of NationStates. It consists of three islands and the northernmost peninsula of NationStates.
The official name is the Community of United Anacreon, but is also called Anacreon by the neighbouring. Among natives the country is also referred as “The Islands”.
The name Anacreon comes from the founder of Anacreon, Joseph Anacreon, who founded a colony based on his principles of Freedom, and Liberty.

Politics
United Anacreon is a Libertarian Direct Democracy ruled by the Chancellor who is equivalent to the American President who rules with the help of a Parliament.
The current High Chancellor is Ian Leigh, elected on 2001 after the revolution, he is also the leader of the Anacreon National Party. The current Prime Minister is Winston Harrington.
The Anacreon Parliament is a unicameral legislature comprising 129 Members, 73 of whom represent individual constituencies and are elected on a first past the post system; 56 are elected in eight different electoral regions by the additional member system, first elected on the 6 May 1999 and serving for a four year period.The Prime Minister is appointed by the High Chancellor. Other Ministers are also appointed by the High Chancellor on the nomination of the Parliament and together with the First Minister they make up the Anacreon Executive, the executive arm of government
Economy
Anacreon has a highly developed western style open mixed economy which is closely linked with that of the rest of Europe and the wider world. Traditionally, the Anacreonian economy has been dominated by heavy industry underpinned by the shipbuilding, uranium mining and steel industries. Petroleum related industries associated with the extraction of North Sea oil have also been important employers from the 1970s, especially in the north east of Scotland. De-industrialisation during the 1970s and 1980s saw a shift from a manufacturing focus towards a more services orientated economy. Salisbury is the financial services centre of Scotland and the largest financial centre in the NationStates Region in terms of funds under management: the National Bank of Anacreon(the second largest bank in the Nationstates Region); HBOS (owners of the Bank of Anacreon); and Anacreon Standard Life.
In 2005, total Anacreon (excluding intra-country trade) were provisionally estimated to be £17.5 billion, of which 70% (£12.2 billion) were attributable to manufacturing. Anacreon's primary exports include whisky, electronics and financial services. In 2006, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Scotland was just over £86 billion, giving a per capita GDP of £16 900.
As of 2006, the unemployment rate in Anacreon stood at 5.1% - marginally above the NationStates average, but lower than in the majority of world countries.
Currency
Anacreon's currency is unique in the fact that it has no paper money. Citizens are provided with an Allied BankCredit card which is much like a credit card. One Allied BankCredit is worth about 3 United States Dollars.
Demographics
The population of Anacreon in the 2001 census was 6,903,085, which has risen to 6,958,876 according to 2005 estimates.
According to the 2001 census, 66% of the population was British Anacreonian, and 43.1% non-white (mainly of Asian origin). Most non-white groups were concentrated in the southern cities of Newcastle, Devonshire and Hillshire.
Anacreon has large ethnically Asian communities mainly in Newcastle, Devonshire and Hillshire due immigration since World War II, and mostly are of Chinese Origin.
In the 2001 Labour Force Survey, 72% of adults in Anacreon considered their national identity as wholly Anacreonian and another 7% considered themselves to be partly Anacreonian. A recent study estimated that 55% of the Anacreonian population have surnames of Scottish origin.
In 2001 a quarter of the Anacreonian population were born outside Anacreon, The proportion of people who were born in Anacreon differs across the country, with the highest percentages in the South Anacreon Hills , and the lowest in Devonshire Island.
