General Information
One of the oldest regions in NationStates, United Powers was created on 8 March 2003 when a small group of eight nations decided to band together to create an impact on the then-young NationStates community. Only One Red Dot, Giant Zucchini, and The Iron Wolf Brigade still exist; the other six nations have ceased to exist depite several revivals. The founder was Iron Wolf Brigade, but all the nations moved to a new region soon after due to a renaming. Following changes to NationStates source code, the founder of the new region was deleted and hence the region became "founder-less". The founding of the new region was, however, attributed to Kimchi Jong Il according to historical sources.
The region's first delegate was One Red Dot. The region's first, and yet only, thing done in the community was planned to be a battle against the nation, MagicChina, a godmodder. However, only a war of words resulted, and no physical action ever took place between United Powers and MagicChina. Following that, a giant tectonic upheaval separated One Red Dot physically from the other nations. In order to ease communication between the delegate and other nations, a new delegate was appointed, the Iron Wolf Brigade.
A temporary state of hiatus then went past, but soon after a civil war was declared within the region. These civil wars soon began to be the norm, and the only source of activity from the region. The democratic Clan Chaos Kestrel fought against The Khanates in a bid to remove dictatorship from the region. A Peacekeeping Force was also established by the delegate, but proved impotent. As a result of this move other nations formed their own private armies as well, some public, some secret. Eventually all armies were abolished to prevent any ulterior motives, including the Peacekeeping Force.
Soon after a General Election was proposed to elect the delegate. This naturally met with slight resistance from the incumbent delegate, and yet another minor spat erupted between the two strongest candidates, Iron Wolf Brigade and Kimchi Jong Il. The matter was settled amiably, and resulted in Kimchi earning delegateship. At this point, the region was at its peak activity despite having only 12 nations.
However the region then started to fall into slumber yet again (also due to RL reasons). Delegateship fell to Holy Erat and then back to Iron Wolf Brigade as more nations went into inactivity. Some of the Old Guard were revived, but only for a short while. The region continued its spiral and has now depleted into a single nation.
