The University of Civic Virtue in Aristonople, Bilbtoria is the second oldest institute of higher education in the Confederated Peoples and one of the nation's most prestigious universities.

The university began as a semi-formal academy modeled after those of ancient Athens, especially the original academy headed by Plato. It was originally dedicated almost exclusively to the study of classical antiquity and was sometimes criticized by Orthodox theologians as being pagan in inspiration. However, as it developed, the scholarly community which was to become the UCV began to include some of the more reflective theologians among its members.

UCV and the University of Civic Duty are often referred to as "the Civics." The two universities have a long history rivalry but also a long history of uncontested dominance over Danaan academic life. Since the formation of the Confederated Peoples, this dominance is being challenged by some of the better Lanerian universities.
