The University of Etnier (often referred to as U of E) is one of Kelssek's most prestigious universities and is commonly regarded as having the nation's top medical school and is a world leader in medical research, helped by its close association with the National Microbiology Laboratory and the Kelssekian Centre for Human and Animal Health.

Founded in 1877, the university's main downtown campus on the Kewatin river was voted the nation's most beautiful campus in 1999, and houses most of the teaching and research facilities of the university. A satellite campus, next to the Health Sciences Centre, houses the Faculty of Dentistry, the Faculty of Medicine, the School of Medical Rehabilitation, and the School of Dental Hygiene.
