It's The Centipede.

Really, he's whoever he needs to be at any given time. Usually, he pictures himself as he normally looks, wandering around in Battle Dress Uniform (now a bit faded, thanks to life); other times he's a giant centipede, usually at the behest of others; other times he wanders around as a kzin. The people on IRC know what's going on, so don't get any weird ideas.

Generally, he's a decent enough guy to talk to, although perhaps a bit obsessive about honor and what he does for others. Still, it's inevitable that he manages to tick some people off and is unable to convince them that he's not the biggest jerk to walk the face of the planet--he usually ends up reinforcing these peoples beliefs because, hey, everyone needs to vent once in a while and the White Knight is such a repressed character... and if one must be petty, one may as well be petty to the people who expect it anyway.

He tries to be hospitable, as that is the duty of a host. He tries to be successful, as that is the duty of a worker. He tries to be helpful, as that is the duty of any moral person to the rest of society. Whether or not he is successful lies in the eye of the beholder; in his own mind, his self-worth (based on these concepts) varies with the day and season, usually on the low end of marginally useful.

He likes airplanes and is interested in far too many things. Jack of all trades, master of none is his motto. Unfortunately, versatility isn't exactly a saving virtue in society. Then again, he does worry a bit much. About everything. But, hey, c'est la vie.
