The first thing you notice as you get off the little very narrow gauge multiple unit train is how green and organic looking everything is.

the waiting shelter has a map on the wall with little lights on it showing the location of moving trains and their color indicates whether they are moveing toward (green) or away (red) from this particular stop.

there are a small number of delightfully miandering pathways leading away from it in all directions. some have namesighns beside them and some of the houses they lead to can be seen off in the middle distance surrounded by their gardens.

only one of those you can see are rectangular or built entirely above ground. one looks like nothing other then a natural rock outcropping. the others are organic looking freeforms, mostly ferro-cement, hay bail, cobb or adobie construction.

mine is one of those that looks mostly like a natural rock outcropping. it is also mostly underground but you can't see it directly from the transit stop.

the trail to it leads off through the trees but is clearly marked and when you get to the oriental looking garden that surrounds it you'll likely be greeted by strainge looking small furry creatures with big sharp teeth. don't worry the're mostly friendly and like scritchies, though not all of them are pets exactly, nor entirely tame as such, so all except for one very friendly cat will probably run away if you try to pick them up.

you can tell my pile of rocks is a house by the woodsmoke curling up from the chimney and the solar array covering much of it's upper surface (the flate planes somewhat spoiling the natural outcropping effect but as they are slightly irregular in outline this might not be too obvious except of the reflectiveness of their surface. mostly depends on the time of day and the weather as to how noticable this is.

there is also a small creek running through the garden and even miniature trains as well.

when i greet you at the door i might look any one of several ways. one of which being a anthro/humanoid/furry large green cat guy. at other times i may look something like a wizzened gnome and yet others an elf of windy and richard pini's elfquest.

the front room you enter looks something like a cross between a hobbit or wizzard's library and the bridge of a starship. that is to say funkey and comfortable with lots of shelves lined with all kinds of books, but also several desks that look like a cross between computers and some kind of control panels.

at any rate there are plenty of comfortable places to sit. books and monitor screens and indicator lights to see. and more little furry creatures with big sharp teeth of odd and interesting sorts making themselves at home on the bean bag chairs, floor cussions, and of course the floor itself so be carefull to try and not step on any of them.

there is almost always a pot of tea going or decaff or noodles and broth.

you may wonder what kind of government carlemnaria has that it's elected leaders whould live so unaustentatiously. well in point of fact we're called 'low persons' and have no authority invested in us as individuals. we tend to pride ourselves on how much our government is a kind of cryptoanarchic service state annonymous while remaining also somewhat ecosocialist.

our tecnologies are tecnologies of creativeness and mellowness and we use them to live close to nature and the earth without overly sacraficing comfort and convenience to do.

visitors are often suprised how much of our daily needs nature itself provides when allowed to do so.

there are no building codes as such, but you will also find aggressiveness not romantacized or rewarded, but instead it is creativity and immagination that is.

another thing you may notice about our tecnologies is that all of them are very very quiet, even our agricultural and construction machinery, and of course our transportation infrastructure.

if you're planing on staying in carlemnaria long, and you're welcome to do so as long as you like, you'll be wanting to learn about our mathom houses, craftufacturing centers, community based agriculture, schools, and all the institutions that make our way of life possible.

but time enough for that later.

for now just make yourself comfortable and enjoy your visit.

can i get you some tea or coffee or something else to drink or perhaps something to nibble on?

^^
