Date & time

The five tilde function (~~~~~) does not seem to be operational, yet it does so seem to be on Wikipedia. The following signature is an example of what results from its usage. Rechze(talk) 12:35, 28 Dec 2004 (GMT)~

Sorry

I saw the broken link "n00k", and though of "n00b" and I couldn't avoid the corniness. I come here, grovelling for your forgiveness. I was tempted, I strayed, I was an imbecile. Sorry. Can I act nonchalent now? :/ IdioC 20:02, 28 Dec 2004 (GMT)

IP edits

I asked, "Is there anyway you can attribute your IP address to an account you've made subsequently to obtain credit for the modification?" Sadly, I don't think it worked, my IP's 217.205.141.9... I checked the list and I don't have the creation of the "Kurui" article. Sorry to bother you but could you try it again please?

More IP Hoohah

Fair enough, get those essays done first, the IP stuff's a bit trivial really at the end of the day, so don't worry if's not working out. Thanks for your time. IdioC- ðtalk 17:52, 30 Dec 2004 (GMT)

Help

I have not yet figured out how exactly to use this website. I have a registered username, but I cannot figure out how to contribute anything. Please help.

Infobox:Nation

The {{{statsbox}}} section at the bottom of the infobox isn't loading with the NSEconomy links and is staying as you see at the beginning of this sentence at the time of writing. I noticed this just after adding in NSwiki:Community_decisions that the population value could be taken from the NSEconomy page instead of people updating it all the time themselves... sound dynamic linking prove impossible. C'est la vie, non?

In other news, Myrth's page has had "Note that this nation was formerly famous for making dog food out of criminals." added to it by 217.44.110.216. I'm not sure if it's a vandalism or not.IdioC- エドの狂いtalk 19:17, 6 Jan 2005 (GMT)

Sandbox

I'm judging by your contemplation of adding category:meh to the sandbox that you're not 100% on my edit of it. I'd appreciate any feedback on it - the intent was to make a "clean up afterwards" message because I noticed several clearances today. I understand the gif is a little bit on the naff side... IdioC- エドの狂いtalk 00:08, 11 Jan 2005 (GMT)

  • Thanks for the feedback - the animation was better in flash but I exported it to .gif in order to prevent people having to download the plug-in which they might not want to do. That said, I still have the .swf file if required (and the original .fla editing document should you recommend any tweaks). I just hope Knoot (who I think put the picture up, it was hosted on a .nl server) doesn't take offence. IdioC- エドの狂いtalk 00:19, 11 Jan 2005 (GMT)

Sorry for the error on my part.

I did not realise it was left blank. I must not have left the original text that continues to be edited. This is a bit new to me and I will go to the sandbox to ensure I do not repeat the offense.

Bug? (if it has not already been noted)

[[Elizabeth (Lizzy) Hall|]], results in .?.?.?. [[Elizabeth (Lizzy) Hall|]]. It functions correctly, when the brackets are at the end. Rechze(talk) 11:51, 30 Jan 2005 (GMT)

Nikolaos The Great

This article has had its statistics updated two days in succession and has placed a self-glorifying FAC tag on itself by its sole non-anonymous author. The poll for the FAC has not been created (Rechze has mentioned this on the author's talk page) and I advised the author against updating the statistics every day. You might want to keep an eye on the page - It seems neither Rechze or myself have received an acknowledgement of the messages we've sent the author and he's either not read them or is ignoring external input. IdioC- エドの狂いtalk 17:33, 31 Jan 2005 (GMT)

Last contribution by User:Nikolaos The Great was at 20:18, 30 Jan 2005 (GMT). My comment was made at 1:34, 31 Jan 2005 (GMT), after user's latest edit, and the comment of IdioC was made before, but at Talk:Nikolaos The Great, which could have been missed. Do my message will probably be seen the next time the user logs in, and I will direct him to the other comment as well. Rechze(talk) 21:33, 31 Jan 2005 (GMT)

page mess up

Would it be possible if you delete NationStates_Tennis_Alliance? I kept on making the wrong pages while creating a page for this article. It doesn't matter if the history is deleted and I've already saved the contents in my computer. thanks. One Red Dot 08:13, 2 Feb 2005 (GMT)

Peter

The initial edit of this page acted very strangely today. It stayed at the top of the recent changes for quite some time. When other edits were made, they would be placed underneath it. I suspect that the edit may have been tagged with a time later than when it was actually done. Thus when edits were made after it in real time, they must have been placed below it because of having been associated with a time earlier than this edit, when in fact they were carried out after it. Of course following the time that this edit was labelled with, all the edits were placed above it in the RC as usual. Rechze(talk) 13:26, 25 Feb 2005 (GMT)

"Argument" vs. "Arguement"

Howdy.

I had thought this one had died, but I guess I'm going to have to defend myself.

I would never edit to correct between an American or British spelling of a word. If someone has written it that way then it is obviously their preference, so it should be left at that.

However, in this case, there really is no such word as "arguement". If you put it into Google, it even suggests the correct spelling. I am British, and my British dictionary lists it as "argument". This is contrary to what User: Liverpool England implied, who essentially accused me of using an American spelling; like I said there is no such thing.

If User:Liverpool England wishes to have a spelling mistake on his page then so be it. I really was only trying to be helpful. But I don't want this to become a big deal.

Thanks, --Eddie 22:41, 12 Mar 2005 (GMT)

Resolution

Cheers, Goobergunch. Glad this has been sorted. --Eddie 19:17, 13 Mar 2005 (GMT)
