Generic redirects for specific topics

Hey, Kyanges:

We've noticed that you are using generic topic titles ("Government" and "Culture") to redirect to your pages on something specific about Kyanges government and culture. While we are excited to see this addition to the encyclopedia on your part and appreciate the hard work you've been putting into it, we had to delete the redirectors. It is not necessarily against our policy to use the redirection tool the way you did, but if you do so, that means that if somebody wants to create a generic article on Government (in NationStates) or Culture (likewise), they cannot. Then it would all somewhat come back to you and a possible dispute might have risen from this, which we did not want to see. Unfortunately, because of the magnitude and numerous times you've done this in your articles, we had to delete most of them.

Again, we're not necessarily punishing you, but definitely giving you some advice for the future.

Additional information

In addition to what Pacitalia just told you, I have moved all the deleted information into your main entry and edited it to conform to wiki standards. As this is an online encyclopedia please refrain from using the first person. ("I will blahblah".) Think of this as an encyclopedia and you'll generally be fine. --|Knoot|KNOOtalk 18:05, 11 September 2005 (GMT)

Your message

We would prefer it if you put everything about your country into one big topic, as Knoot has done for you already. Then, if you want to elaborate on something, generalise in the main topic, create a new topic for that section you're elaborating and link to it in the section of the main nation topic. It's a lot easier and will fit with NSwiki conventions a lot better than what you had before.

Preview button

Another thing, please use the preview button when you make changes. Every time you press "submit page" it saves an older version of the page. As you can imagine, the way you post now uses an enormous amount of unnececary bandwith. Just use the preview button to see how it will look until you are satisfied with the result. Thank you. --|Knoot|KNOOtalk 19:48, 11 September 2005 (GMT)
